1 Star ReviewV220 cell phone
Strengths: Very easy to misplace(because you wouldn't miss it!) but call the phone and you can find it!
Weaknesses: Poor signal - it has half the signal I had with my Nokia. Also, the inside screen blanks out to black whenever it wants to-no access to address book, camera, phone numbers, stored photos, etc...
Summary: When I spoke with service tech, he said the blank screen is an ongoing problem with this model. He also stated that there is nothing they are able to do besides sell me a new phone along with the fee to "upgrade" or charge me to replace the phone, still paying an "upgrade" fee. There was no option to just pay for a new phone.

2 Star ReviewIt's Free for a Reason
Strengths: Probably free with activation, long battery life, USB port on side, supports MP3 ringtones
Weaknesses: Terrible reception, calls drop or never come through, camera quality is terrible
Summary: I have the misfortune of owning this phone. Does it work? Technically yes, but it has been a source of great frustration too. I can see a cellular tower from my house yet calls drop frequently and signal bars go up and down constantly. I also get complaints about people calling me and never hearing a ring, just straight to voicemail. Most cellular phones can accommodate an antenna adapter, but I've never found one for this phone. I'm not sure it would be a good investment anyway. Even with 5 bars the sound isn't spectacular. In short, reception is bad, however, the phone still works.

One option I think is totally ridiculous is the (seemingly) 1 kilopixel camera. Mine doesn't even take normal pictures, they all have a red hue to them. This is the kind of camera people keep using to photo bigfoot or the loch ness monster.

On the upside I will say that the battery life is very impressive. I've had this thing off the charger for 4 days and it still didn't turn off on me. I try to charge it every night though.

If you have the right cable and the right software you can hook in to this phone. The connection is standard USB (not some proprietary connection) so the right cable shouldn't be hard to find. If you have the software and drivers you can do plenty of things with this phone like SMS typing with your keyboard, address book synchronization, upload and download of photos and audio, and probably upload of games. I've uploaded a few MP3s to use as ringtones. The only drawback is the rather terrible speaker the phone uses.

This phone hasn't lasted me the entire time though, I had it replaced under warranty once. One day it just wouldn't turn on. Go figure.

So, despite any of the good points I've mentioned, you can get a much better phone free with activation. Or even if you're in a rush to get a phone just cough up a few extra bucks to avoid getting this one.

1 Star ReviewYou must stand in the perfect spot or your call is ...
Strengths: It's a beautiful phone, very portable, fits anywhere and it's easy to use.
Weaknesses: Reception, battery life
Summary: You must stand in the perfect spot or your call is dropped. The battery life is about 36 hours, if you do not use it and about 2 hours if you do. After a 30 minute business call I have to find a place to recharge. I'm getting rid of it.

Strengths: USB PC Support, small size, Color screen, Caller ID, flip phone, camera, mp3 support, long lasting battery.
Weaknesses: No car charger, low memory 1.5 mb, and small color screen, need to get Motorola phone tools to connect PC to Phone.
Summary: When I first got this phone I was amazed about how small it was. When I brought it home I saw it had a mini usb v. B port where i could connect it to my PC. To hook it up I need to download Motorola Phones Tools and install the P2K drivers for the phone modem. Once I did I could easily upload MP3 Music for ringtones and images for my phones background. Also it was able to synchonize with my microsoft outlook contact list.

1 Star Reviewdo not get this phone
Strengths: size - pretty much
Weaknesses: No software. Drops calls often.
Summary: What astounds me is why motorola put this out on the market without software support. I have yet to find a site where I can download software that would allow me to download pictures to my PC. You would think that these software (drivers) would be available for download in the motorola website - not the case here. Software should have come with the product. It is just a dismal product all together. Motorola needs to get it's act together. No wonder NOKIA is still number 1.

2 Star ReviewNot Good.
Strengths: Flip design is nice.
Weaknesses: Poor audio
Summary: Very poor audio through the main unit and, even worse, with the earbud. I should have returned this. Motorola should have recalled, in my estimation. I went into the Cingular office but it was after warranty. One worker confirmed that they had had many problems with this model

Strengths: Easy to use; takes good pix; has more options than most.
Weaknesses: None, so far.
Summary: The only disappointing thing to me was that I was supposed to receive a printer with it. That was the main reason I selected that particular phone. I would greatly your checking into this for me, so that I can get the printer that went with the phone. Thanks.

2 Star ReviewA good basic camera phone
Strengths: The phone is small which is nice for some people & for those who want to be able to take basic pictures & send them to a computer then this phone is good. It can play MP3 tones & the battery life is f
Weaknesses: Only has 1,300 KB of memory for tones & pictures. Screen is too small to really view pictures.
Summary: Overall the phone is good for people who want a basic camera phone & really don't care about all the bells & whistles. I started out with this phone & as time went by, I started taking more & more pictures. The camera is good, but certainly not great. I think it really has to do with the size of the screen. Another frustrating thing is the amount of available memory on the phone. Either you have a lot of tones & hardly any pictures or vice versa. So, start out with this phone & then maybe look at going to the Motorola V551.
