Strengths: Style, ease of setup, clarity, sharpness, style, good height adjustment, great color out of the box.
Weaknesses: Three "nits" to pick - The power and video cord routing could be "cleaner". Also would like to have a 0 and 90 degree detents when monitor is pivoted. Setup and installation is a PDF on CD.
Summary: I spent a month researching my first flat panel display in person and on the web. In person, the Samsung 151/171/181 series monitors caught my eye immediately due to their thin bezel, and the display seemed to visually "outshine" the other nearby monitors with better color depth, sharpness and clarity. After about six similar experiences with the Samsung units over a couple of weeks, I went to the Web for reviews. All the reviews of the Samsung "1X1" series were very positive, with a small number of folks knocking it mostly for ghosting in fast game play or DVD playback. I don't play fast action games, but do fly several flight simulators on my PC, and the 191T works fine with them. I do notice a small amount of ghosting on DVD replays when there is fast action against a dark background, but if I wasn't looking for it, I wouldn't notice it, and I have beccome accustomed to it without problems. The monitor is connected to an ATI8500DV with digital connections, so my experience reflects that configuration - there may be different results with the monitor's analog connection. The pivoting feature of the 181T/191T monitors was important to me, and the monitor pivots easily by grasping the bezel edge on ether side of the monitor and turning it counterclockwise. A mouse click changes the display to the new orientation, and the monitor is ready. Having pivot detents would be nice, since fine tuning the pivot angle is a minor pain.
