Strengths: Easy on the eyes, easy on the wallet, large screen and lightweight.
Weaknesses: None yet.
Summary: 2003-04-15 20:43:10 I'm a merchant marine and as such I spend months at sea so I needed a monitor that I could carry with me. I really don't care for laptops. I'll be hooking into the closed circut T.V. aboard the ship as well as playing DVD's and games. The monitor is the most important part of this equation and the VX900B I bought from Newegg for $745. doesn't dissapoint. I stick with the native 1280x1024 resolution using the DVI connector and havn't noticed any ghosting whatsoever during gameplay or DVD playback. The colors are vibrant and crisp and my eyes don't burn from sitting in front of a screen anymore. If you're a professional graphics expert you should use your inteligence and take a look at LCD's before buying one. As for the remaining 99.9% of us, this is a great monitor that will perform admirably at any "mainstream" task. Another great thing about LCD's in general is that, unlike a CRT, the pitcure will not degrade or fade over the years. If the backlighting bulb should eventually fail you can simply replace it. The picture will always look the same as the day you bought it.

Strengths: Great contrast and very clear text. Vivid colors. Nice design.
Weaknesses: Pixalation when graphics are enlarged but not annoying for normal user.
Summary: Very bright and "forward" text and colors . Easy to view even at the recommended resolution (1280 X 1204 @ 60.02 Hz). Some pixalation that may impact on big time graphic user types. But for the normal user an excellent choice. A palpable difference in viewing experience from a CRT monitor. Text and colors are vivid and easier on the eyes...so far. I would recommend this monitor highly for users who work with text, minor graphic use, spreadsheets, charts or other "typical" home and office use.

Strengths: Quality, Size, Performance
Weaknesses: None
Summary: 2002-12-27 15:00:34 Well I'm no graphical designer like the last review, just a regular guy, so my review is from a typical home computer user, e-mail, web, games, and such. Actually I'm a bit of a hardware guru and very frugal, so when I put down my pennies, I'm comfortable. This monitor has been my best (and most expensive single piece) purchase ever in the years that I've been building computers for friends and family. It provides a fabulously clear display that I have never been unhappy with. The features and performance are perfect for the $$$. I've used alot of LCDs at work, and there is nothing as good as the VX900 IMHO. I did have display issues between when I upgraded to WinXP and a GeForce4 Ti 4200(WinFast A250 128MB VIVO), but it was resolved with some upgraded drivers, not sure what was at fault.

Have an inventory program with drop down menus and ...
Strengths: It's a large screen
Weaknesses: Resolution issues, colors not very vibrant
Summary: Have an inventory program with drop down menus and on certain menues this monitor will not display information when monitor is at its optimal resolution of 1280x1024. I have to adjust to 1280x768 and screen look bad at this resolution. Tech support only wants to point fingers at others for the problem and has no suggestions. I do not have these problems with other manufactures lcd monitors. This monitor is up for sale.

Strengths: Image quality, exterior quality, speed, overall display excellence
Weaknesses: None
Summary: The Viewsonic VX900 is far beyond my expectations for a 19” LCD. Every quality category you can think of for an LCD display is maxed out! I have had people come into my office for a meeting, look at the display, question me about it, then leave and go order one off of the web the same day. It really does have that kind of impact on everyone. I run it off of my desktop P4 2.0 with a Gforce4 4600 using DVI. If you are into gaming or graphics design or need lots of room on screen to maneuver like a power user, this display should be on your list of “must haves”. Big, bright and beautiful is the best way to describe the VX900. I’m going to buy a second one for my home system soon.

Anyone in professional graphics ( I am a computer ...
Strengths: design, size, contrast ratio, DVI / analogue inputs
Weaknesses: pixel pitch, brightness
Summary: Anyone in professional graphics ( I am a computer animator) used to using CRT's with dot pitches between 0.22-0.24 will find this LCD (and most others!) WAY TOO PIXELATED for any serious DETAILED GRAPHICS USE. When I read the rest of the reviews giving this product 5 stars I have to laugh since most people must be using reading glasses in everyday life so they don't mind the 0.294 pixel pitch with this LCD (and like I said most others currently) that makes text look like it's done on a cheap LCD watch. EXAMPLE: the dpi setting for this LCD CANNOT BE SET TO LOWER THAN 96!!! CRT's are usually at 72dpi!!! The brightness is also an issue - its too bright for my liking. The difference from the lowest brightness setting to the highest is almost imperceptible. Personally I like nice rich blacks as well as good contrast. Would I buy another LCD? No way - not until they start coming out with reasonably priced models with comparable to CRT dot pitches (pixel pitches).

Strengths: crisp, clear and bright enough for my viewing.
Weaknesses: none that I can see so far.
Summary: So far so good, big view and bright. Set it at 1024x768 and keeping up with all the application and gaming I am throwing at it. I don't know, it could be the best monitor in the market in my humble opinion.

Strengths: the beauty of the colors and clearness of the pictures makes it a pleasure to work on the computer
Weaknesses: I have found none and the lack of turning and height adjustment is not a problem.
Summary: This is my second viewsonic monitor and this is worth waiting for. I shopped all over and viewed at least 25 LCD screens and viewsonic always came out ahead in, clearity, color in all areas and the beauty of the design and colors of screens available to select. Whether you look at the screen for one hour or several hours your eyes to do not feel strained. Save your self lots of running around and go directly to a store that sells Viewsonic monitors or LCD'S.

Strengths: crisp and clear viewing
Weaknesses: none that I can see yet
Summary: My wife has been bugging me to get this for a year. She was right. At 70 my eyes are not the best. I am running it at 1024x768 which is about the best I can do.

Strengths: The best 19" available
Weaknesses: none
Summary: I've had my eye on this unit for the past 6 months. After playing with other brands this is the best. I finally took the plunge and purchased from newegg.com. I don't have the unit yet, but I know I won't be dissappointed. If your waiting for a good price drop forget it! This unit has only come down about $15.00 in that 6 month period. I'm buying it because I wanted the space saving and power saving this unit brings. Less heat and no eye strain. I'm not a big gamer so that's not an issue. I mainly will be doing graphic work as well as DVD authoring. That's what makes this unit such a must have. It uses the premium MVA screen design by Fuji. If you check out their site, it will compare a standard MVA screen with the new Premium MVA screen. Huge difference when it comes to color reproduction and gradients of colors. The best way to know if your are getting the Fuji premium MVA screen is to look at the viewing angle. The Premium model has a 170 degree viewing angle. The standard MVA screens are below 170 Degrees. If your wondering who else makes MVA, I believe that Fuji is the only company that offers a MVA screen, so all MVA screens are made by them. If you have the cash and want a LCD monitor, this is the one to get! Enjoy!

Strengths: Big viewing area.
Weaknesses: Haven't run into any so far.
Summary: This has been a very nice upgrade for me. I play CFS2 at the zone and this monitor seems to perform with out any trouble. I have updated my drivers twice since I've had it and each upgrade has been very good. My refresh rate now tops at 75mhz. Which is very good for these type of LCD's I'm told.

Strengths: NA
Weaknesses: NA
Summary: Well. I just received mine.. I give it a 4 star so far because I didn't get to use it yet.. It's at home. yet I'm at work.. But from the specifications, it should be a very good monitor. I'll update once i get home. I just wanted to mention that. EGGHEAD.COM has a lower price than all these Online Vendors.. I received mine for $970 total/ with overnight fedex shipping.. The LCD monitor itself was $917. I don't know why EGGHEAD isn't on pricegrabber's list. They seem to has the best price and customer support.. (They answer their calls very quick.) well.. like i said.. i'll update once i get home. CAN't WAIT..=)
