Kodak CX6445
Strengths: Fairly inexpensive, easy to use, not complicated, & good for men with big hands (not teeny-tiny camera). It has a simple zoom, & takes movies with audio. USB interface & Win XP or Linux sees camera.
Weaknesses: Strong light reflections cause verticle lines in video. Sound is mono. No zoom when recording video, but zoom can be changed when paused. mov video file format not portable.
Summary: 2005-09-26 09:49:38 Men will have no problem with the heavier weight of this rugged camera, but small people may. Battery life is good when using two 2400 mAh rechargeable NiMH AA batteries. Video file format is .mov which is not portable, and converting to mpeg or avi formats will lose resolution. The vertical lines in the picture from strong reflected light is unacceptable. I feel it is a bad design, not a defective camera. Sadly, I will have to return it & will likely have to buy a higher priced camera. The vertical lines and the mov format are not worthy of my $220+ purchase (a $150 camera and $70 1Gb SD memory card + batteries and charger).
