Strengths: Excellent amp and receiver. Small speakers easy to mount anywhere. Decent sound for the money
Weaknesses: subwoofer emits loud firecracker pops if LFE channel is over driven in dolby digital mode.
Summary: Over-all this is a great little package. The sound for music is decent and outstanding for movies, TV etc. Dolby digital and pro-logic II are must have features after experiencing them with this HTIB (home theater in a box). The only drawback is that loud passages on movies in Dolby digital mode can cause loud pops in the passive subwoofer at anything above moderate sound levels. Considering this is a second system in my basement where small speakers and price are primary considerations, I can live with this and have decided to keep the system. NOTE: The above mentioned fault is only present on the LFE channel in Dolby digital. You can crank the system in any other mode and get clean room filling bass with no side effects. Since I have this in a small space and don't watch movies at really loud volume levels, this hasn't presented a problem for me. But it is something that you should bear in mind prior to purchasing the HTB-205
