Strengths: Very nice, Multi-functioned monitor
Weaknesses: NA
Summary: This monitor is great for the person who has multiple video sources and enjoys the benefits of plasma display technology. Using this monitor in addition to an RCA media-selector switch box, I am able to quickly choose between a workstation PC, server PC, cable TV, PS/2, N64, DVD, VCR, or Camcorder inputs! All showing on the quality display of a 17" flat panel plasma display.

I have no clue regarding the 5 star ratings above, ...
Strengths: Well the plus is the price, pay plan where purchased and it's lcd/thin
Weaknesses: Horrible TV picture and the sound is the worst twang I've ever heard in my life.
Summary: I have no clue regarding the 5 star ratings above, I bought this with an easy pay plan on a shopping network . Great price just over $500 (no shipping or tax) . But I am very disappointed in the TV pic and doubt I will bother hooking it up to see the pic on my computer connection. I'm glad it can be connected both ways but wow, this is just a huge disappointment connected to my cable line. It is very convenient to have it on my desk next to my comp and watch tv. My space is very limited so the lcd works out great, but as I'm about to make another purchase right now for an additional LCD screen I will be very careful of my purchase.

Strengths: Stunning, outstanding. Geez-wow.
Weaknesses: Shortcomings? Naaah.. all the 'toys' are built in!
Summary: First day summary: Picture is stunning, very clear, flicker free, wide viewing angle, bright, (had to turn DOWN the brightness), all resolutions view at full screen, (no translation to smaller screen size), 'auto' function allows monitor to optimize itself, (or can be done manually, but why?). Other users complain of small speakers/audio quality, but I saw no regrets. Amount of inputs are stunning: VGA, composite video, S-Video, Audio from computer, stereo audio (RCA), F-type cable TV, wow. A true 'techy' geek monitor. Screen size is 17", a true 17", which is actually greater than the size I get from my 20" NEC 5d. Up-front controls for everything, remote control for all functions. I plan to get several (8 or more) to use as TV's, wall-mount is a snap. Thin profile, L-O-W power consumption, and the picture clarity is spot-on. I've seen these monitors for less than $400, but you have to be quick (E-Bay). Long guarantee built in, I suspect long life, quality of the monitor appears very good. Scratch that, EXCEPTIONALLY good. No doubt, a jewel. I run a multi-monitor set-up on my PC, and being able to switch over to TV viewing while doing PC work always impresses the noobs. Drop in a DVD player, and this unit shines. (VHS works great as well!) Light weight.. PC audio in-out allows stringing multiple monitors up with PC sound.. A great treat. Low power allows great 'road trips' in the car or van.

Strengths: Price, Multi-input , Stylish, Quality, Warranty, Durability and features
Weaknesses: Speaker could use more power, touch bottoms could be sometimes tricky, Immage quality could use some enhancement. and finally, What is up with the stone-age remote ?
Summary: 2003-06-25 16:33:36 I bought this monitor from Buy.com last year during special they had prior to the holidays. And I was not disappointed ! I usually research what I want to buy and then do some more research and finally . another research to make sure it scores high on my b4b (bang for the buck) scale, and this monitor is great. I use it for outdoor display ( not in direct sunlight though) and it always produce good quality picture and grap ppl attention. I did not really used the TV tuner much although that was one of the factors to choose this one. But in my opinion, it is impractical. I have seen few other models came after this which might have better picture quality, But this one is still my favorite

Strengths: Very sharp picture. Works very well as a TV set with the included remote.
Weaknesses: Sound from the built in speakers could truly be a bit more full. Adequate at best.
Summary: I am very pleased with my purchase of the 1702 from buy.com. The only disappointment with my transaction was that the model I received did not have USB ports on the side as I was expecting it to. I decided not to worry about it, as I really didn't need them anyways. There is a blank panel where they should be. Must be an option. Overall, I bought the LCD to use with my computer system, but now that Football and Hockey are in full swing, I've been using it most of the time for "Picture In Picture" outside the set. We have a 53" Sony HDTV ready set, but it cannot match the vividness of the color on this 17" screen. The ice of the hockey rink is so very white and realistic compared to the duller yellowish tint on the 53". Plus, the 53" has the satellite receiver's only s-video output while I'm using the RCA output for the Cornea. I did experiment, and the s-video does make an improvement in quality when used. I am thinking about getting an ATI graphics card with digital video output to really see what this screen is capable of. I know we'll be road tripping in the next two weeks and this screen will replace the 25" TV I usually bring in the back of my Yukon with the Playstation 2 for gaming and movies. I haven't found anything as yet that I feel Cornea could improve upon other than the quality of the sound. A decent pair of small, amplified speakers next to this screen fixes that right up. I highly recommend this unit, as the price is great and it doubles as a TV!!!!

Strengths: Brightness and contrast rival more expensive monitors. Multiple inputs and capabilities excel.
Weaknesses: Built in speakers are somewhat "tinny"; however, ports for external devices abound.
Summary: Extremely pleased with aesthetics, performance and ease of use. I would definitely purchase again. Approaches equivalency of a monitor priced at double the cost (ie. - Performance rates 95% as well as a monitor priced at twice the cost.
