Strengths: Quite stable. I had to reinstall from zero the SW, performs well so far. Gives no problems whatsoever.

Weaknesses: Sound system quality is poor. The screen could have a better resolution. The plastic material of the case is rather flimsy. This machine could have had a firewire connection.

Summary: I feel this notebook is not going to stay in our memory. I had a Satellite 2800-600 European model, although it was limited to its CPU and SB, it was a machine that will stay in my memory for all the thrills and special features it had, great sound, sturdy feel (two times I dropped it without any damage whatsoever), 15" screen, firewire connection, the works. Opposed to this one, the 6100's only good remark is powerful CPU and SB.

Strengths: Few.

Weaknesses: Many.

Summary: This machine as purchased was actually somewhat of a rip-off. The laptop I received was not the same as the Toshiba laptop advertised except with ONE different alpha character in the part number. It arrived with no Office S/W and little else in the way of S/W so you'll have to pony up at least another $600 to bring it up to spec. Hard to explain how you can call a machine a small business tool if it doesn't have Office S/W. It's a knock-off made in China and sold under the Toshiba name. Be very careful if you by any Toshiba like this. I would recommend looking elsewhere.
