Strengths: Excellent graphics, stays close to original UT
Weaknesses: Needs a powerful PC
Summary: I'm a big fan of FPS's, and especially the Unreal Tournament series. This game is another great addition to the Unreal line, and I'm sure you won't be disappointed if you buy it. This one is even better than UT2004!!!

3 Star ReviewUnimpressed
Strengths: Environment graphics
Weaknesses: Game play, character model graphics
Summary: I bought Unreal Tournament 3 because reviews say its graphics is better than Gears of War. Well, totally false. The character model is so small and far away that you don't really see much of your enemies (or allies). This is unlike in GoW, where both COG and Locust are vivid with nature motions. In UT3, characters moves like the traditional "ice skating" fashion.

Also, I don't like the pace. It's so fast that you are dead before you know it. The enemy distance is too far - there is no shotgun type of battles that I enjoy in GoW.

Strengths: Returns that original UT feel, the weapons feel like they actually do some damage
Weaknesses: Steep PC requirements, not a whole lot of servers up yet
Summary: To be honest, when 2003 and 2004 came out, I did like them a little but I couldn't get into the new style that these brought. The weapons felt they were nerfed with perhaps the biggest for me was the change of the rocket launcher going from a max of 6 missiles down to three. UT3 has appeared to recreate as much of the original UT style as best of possible. It's not perfect but I find myself enjoying it more than I did with 2003 and 2004. Not a whole lot of servers available and the game can be demanding. However, with time this game will hopefully grow onto fans of the original UT.

Strengths: Breathtaking Graphics, Original UT Feel, Absolutely Free Multiplayer (No Subscription Or Payments Needed)
Weaknesses: Needs A "Very" High-End Computer, Lags Considerably If Internet Connection Is Not Fast Enough, Not Many Players Out There Yet
Summary: Since Unreal Tournament 2003 and 2004, I have been looking for a UT-reincarnation that has created the feel of adrenaline and fun that the original Unreal Tournament has brought me many years ago. UT3 seems to be the closest iteration to date that has brought the feel and the moves of the original UT game into the gaming atmosphere. The game is viciously fast paced, with any weapon you use to be as deadly as the next (even the regular sidearm is deadly in the hands of an expert.) Unlike playing Halo 3 multiplayer where everything feels almost mute except the players in the game, the environment in UT3 is alive and deeply organic thanks to the Unreal 3 engine. However this means the PC-requirements are rather steep for anyone who wants to play this game in its full glory. Surround sound only works with OpenAL-compatible sound cards so the Creative Xi-Fi seems to be the best choice for PC gamers right now...
