Strengths: 16MB of memory; Palm support has been great.
Weaknesses: Screen is no improvement over the m505; access to info on expansion card is slow.
Summary: I went from a Palm V to a m505. A couple of days after I got my m505, I discovered that Palm had released the m515, so I upgraded to it. I have been disappointed. The m515 is certainly an improvment over the V in terms of space, but there are a few drawbacks. First, Palm inexplicably narrowed the channel or grove that holds the m515 to a wallet or carrying case. The wallet that fit my V so well became useless when I switched to the 515. I have spent countless hours looking for a replacement wallet to no avail. The offerings from Palm are weak and other merchants have not perfected their offerings. Franklin's wallet sits at about a 40 degree angle when you put the 515 and a couple of credit cards in it. I have resorted to having a wallet custom made. Secondly, there is no real difference between the screen on the 515 and the 505. Although Palm markets it as brighter, I cannot see the difference. Thirdly, the 515 does not seem as reliable as the V. The stylus was so loose when I took the 515 out of the box that it would fly out of the unit when I gave it a good shake. It seems prone to crashes. I have had more than 3 "fatal errors" where the unit will reset itself. This isn't a big deal (no loss of data), but it never happened with the V. Today my screen gave up and would not respond to any commands. I had to send the unit back and I am without a Palm for a few days. Palm support has been great, but what a hassle. A mediocre experience at best.
