More quality identification time
Strengths: Allow you longer quality identification time
Weaknesses: Image lacks clarity at greater distances
Summary: These binoculars do provide you with a longer, better view of details for birding at mid-range. However, they lack clarity at far distances. For this reason I would recommend the 10X over the 8X magnification.
It is a bit annoying that the image jumps when the image stabilizer button is pushed. Once it locks in you have to find your subject again. Be sure to pack extra batteries in case your batteries die while you're in the field or on a trip. They use CA123 batteries which may not be easy to find on field trips. I would like to see them use some sort of rechargeable battery.
But for people who have trouble holding binoculars still for a good look at things they are a reasonably priced solution.
