heathmilligan from CA Member Since: May 2004 View Member's: Reviews Product Experience: 1 Months	Pathetic Acer Aspire 1690 series should be avoided! Strengths: Seemingly good spec for the price. Weaknesses: Wifi module overheating causes system to hang. This same fault makes the system crash 10+ times daily under normal use, even with ample external ventilation. Summary: This is very clearly a show-stopping design flaw in the ventilation around CPU and mini-PCI slot - I can't believe they released this machine! Even though I bought the additional 3yr AcerAdvantage warranty, their service line has been incredibly unhelpful. I had to call 5 times and email thrice to get the option of returning it for repair/replacement, and now I cannot even reach their courier service after 20+ call attempts!
