Strengths: Shows all of the info about each mp3, also the folders their in. Awesome display! Easy to use remote.
Weaknesses: All car Mp3 players have an annoying pause when switching between mp3 tracks.
Summary: Lots of features and really sounds great. Very easy to tweak your system to your preferences. Has lots of audio options, like parametric and graphic equalizers, and selectible high and low pass filter frequencies.

Strengths: Features and capabilities, performance, and price MP3 cd operation is awesome. Displays artist/title/album of the id3 tag, plus bitrate.
Weaknesses: Only displays 8 chars for XM radio artist/song titles Only other downside is the wait time when changing tracks on mp3 cds. For just over $200 for an mp3 player deck, the buffer is still a good size.
Summary: Excellent deck. I bought mine at the beginning of this year for $222. I have XM radio, which works great with the deck, 10 disc cd changer, which also works great, and I also have a 1,000 watt amp & pair of 12" subs in a bandpass. The entire system sounds perfect.

Only down side is that it only displays 8 characters for the artist name and song title, and doesn't allow scrolling. It does scroll on the mp3 cds.

TIP: When you burn an mp3 cd, burn it w/ ISO level 2 and use Joilet. This is important if you want the filenames to be neat and not all capped.

Strengths: Price, ability to read ID3 tags, screensavers, equalizer, clean and simple interface, high quality sounds, 18 FM programmable stations
Weaknesses: Title does not autoscroll, long access time when skipping tracks
Summary: I bought this in-dash mp3 player mainly as an upgrade to my stock stereo for my Integra. I was looking for something within a reasonable price that had the best features. After comparing many other systems from Sony, Aiwa, and JVC, I chose this one from Pioneer. I was not disappointed as it has some really great features such as reading ID3 tags, good equilizer and many programmable features. The only drawback I can see is the inability to autoscroll the title, you can only scroll it once upon pressing and holding the display button. The remote is small and easy to use while driving. Overall I would recommend buying this system if you are an average/above avg. enthusiast as it doesn't burn a huge hole in your wallet.

Strengths: Excellently clean Mosfet 50 audio. High power, CD-Text built into internal CD Player, Mp3 capability, ID3 tag information view.
Weaknesses: 4.5 second delay between tracks on MP3 CD, no RDS (Radio Text) display, and no option to "auto scroll" on titles.
Summary: WOW. The clear, crisp, and noiseless audio coming out of this beast is amazing. I still have factory speakers in my '95 Ford Ranger (5x7's with whizzer cones for tweeters 'm sure) and it STILL sounds awesome. My last pioneer was a mosfet also, which stomped the competition, but this really smokes it at 50w's. I'm replacing the fronts with Pioneers newest 6x8 3 ways and Polk EX572A's in the rear (cause I got them for next to nothing, open box). Unit was bought from www.autotoys.com where it is on special right now for 249.95 with free shipping. (as of 7-21-2002) AIM me at abyssofeternity if you have any questions. --JT

Strengths: beautiful design, great display, exallent sound, and it`s eazy to oparate
Weaknesses: break of up to 7 seconds between mp3 files. from some reason, it did`nt recognised a couple of mp3 files wich were on a disk of mp3`s. no radio text, it would be nice to have that in that price...
Summary: A very impressive unit, i really missed the radio text you would find in much cheaper models.

another annoying thing is that you cannot control the AUX volume from the unit at all, but no other car audio system can, so the problem is not in the model.

beyond that, i think it was an exallent purchase, and i am very pleased with it, even my rear old pioneer speakers of 150w (no amp needed) gives me a delightfull sound.

My grade will be 4.5 stars

Strengths: Many features
Weaknesses: Like the reviews said,it takes 5 or so seconds to play the track in mp3 mode but it really dont matter its not bothersome at all
Summary: This unit rocks hard!!!!!! So many features, a piece of cake to install.....5 preset eq's.....seperate 3 band eq and separate bass and treble controls. Excellent display. Does not skip at all when you hit bumps(i live in new york city, home of bad roads)Cool remote control. So many other things as well. Does so many things i cant list them here.I am still reading the user manuel. And the fact that i can have about 13 full albums on one cd is amazing. Better than a 12 disc cd changer....Got mine for 250$. Was the last one the store had(in manhatten, times square)I highly recommend this unit. Buy it now before the price goes up.

Strengths: It is great. It has great sound and a great display. Its display screen can be easily seen in the sun unlike its previous models. It was also very easy to install.
Weaknesses: It takes it a second or two to play the next mp3 song but it is no big deal.
Summary: Pioneer has out did itself. I wish it had the DFS alarm feature but it is still a great system...well worth the money. Get it while the price is low.

Strengths: This badboy rocks. So many features. So many controls to fine tune the sound of your system. Local audio store sold out of these first day arrived so I ordered on net. Display is sweet. Sounds great.
Weaknesses: Time between mp3 tracks when you skip - couple seconds.
Summary: Would recommend this player to anyone. Many features. Sounds great. Cheap at about $230. Delay between tracks is no bother when you consider the sound, features, power, and ease of use.

Strengths: Sounds great, tons and tons of controls, great display, easy to control, plays mp3 and normal CDs, does not skip, easy to install, a great deck overall!
Weaknesses: The only weakness this thing has is that when you play MP3s when you skip from song to song it takes 3-5 seconds at least to start playing the next song, it's not that big of a deal.
Summary: Great deck for the price, got mine for $250, you simply cant beat it. The display graphics/layout is the best I have seen AT THIS PRICE. BUY IT!
