Strengths: MAC OS with option to run Windows OS
Weaknesses: Expensive, no DVD Writer
Summary: This is my first Mac system. I was afraid at first that it will take me forever to get used to Mac OS but I was wrong. Mac is fairly use to easy. I really love this laptop. It's light, looks gorgeous.

Things I didn't like about the laptop"

- plastic body scratches easily

- no express-card slot

- integrated cd-rom

- integrated video-card

For the money you pay to buy this laptop, you can get way better windows compatible laptops but then again you can't run Mac OS on those machines.

I love the fact that I can run both Mac and Windows OS on this machine. Wish it was a little cheaper.

Strengths: Trendy: sleek, flashy. OS: The operating system is great, can edit the scripts too. Webcam & Microphone Remote control is another good feature. Screen: looks great ac adapter: is small and robust Keyboard: is so comfortable to type on. CD/DVD play
Weaknesses: Dissipates lot of heat - though have improved little bit than previous one. Speakers still stinks. Media file support is not good.
Summary: Although there are few pitfalls in this machine but they are there with any product, but the great features of this Macbook makes those weaknesses so small, that they can be just ignored for such a great machine.

Strengths: a 13.3 screen not too small, not too large. up to 4gb RAM. average processor 2.0 ghz core 2 duo for daily activities. Fast wireless networking, new glossy screen, simple and elegant, FAST OS!, mobile!
Weaknesses: Very few vents too prevent overheating, Integrated graphics, no card slots, no fingerprint reader, no ic reader, heavy for its size.
Summary: Its OK if this laptop wont write DVD's. cuz such activities overheats this laptops so it is recommended to write it on external disk drives. I hate the graphics, much better if they put NVidia's geforce go 7 series which is not expensive at all.

Its trendy and sleek, portable but heavy. Good for school. But this book isnt for Professional use, it is designed for our daily activities that we do mostly in our computers, like chatting, emails, taking down notes for school, internet and play DVD's.

It's not suitable for activities like video encoding or making 3d animations or other activities that needs faster processor and videocards..Faster processor means larger body likr the macbookpro...

Strengths: price, ease of expandability, ability to run windows
Weaknesses: design
Summary: The Macbook is a great design for a consumer level laptop. It feels durable and easy to carry around. While it's almost as heavy as a macbook pro (5lbs, vs 5.4lbs), it doesn't feel like it.

With this latest revision, Apple really brought a lot of power to the Macbook and closed the gap between the MB & MB Pro. You can put up to 4GB of RAM (which you should buy from a 3rd party, not through apple - it's a lot cheaper and the quality is the same). The impressive thing was that even with the stock 1GB of RAM, it felt fast and responsive for your everyday tasks like surfing the web, email & pictures. Upgrading the RAM was super easy - they designed the laptop so the RAM & hard drive are easily accessible and upgradeable.

I wasn't a huge fan of the glossy screen & new keyboard, but i've gotten used both and don't really notice them anymore.

Of course you can install windows (xp/vista) through boot camp on this macbook running leopard which is useful for those few times that you need to boot into windows to run a windows only application or IE.

Finally, the battery life is really impressive. I've been about to get 4+ hours consistently with the macbook.

Now, the negatives. The wristpad portion of the keyboard attracts dirt. Unlike the MBP which has an aluminum wristpad, the white plastic wristpad has a tendency to get dirty (as you may have seen with many macbooks). Also, the hinge where the base of the display is tends to creak when you open and close it. At first I thought it was just my macbook, but I read online that it's just a typical issue that the macbooks have because of the design and materials.

Overall, this is a great value for around $1k to a portable mac. You're not going to be able to use it for superheavy lifting like video processing or hard core gaming, but for everyday use, it's perfect.

3 Star Reviewa nice gadget after a little tweak
Strengths: (1) comes with Leopard. (2) Has everything (hardware and software) needed for daily activities, such as checking email, video ichat...
Weaknesses: need a little tweak before using it for serious work
Summary: (1) Macbook and Macbook pro tends to overheat. Just google it, you will find a lot of related entries. strongly recommend monitoring system temperature with IStat menus (freeware). When cpu is more than %40 busy (spotlight indexing, watching ABC online HD TV ), its temperature will rise up pretty quickly.

(2) Add memory right away. the 1G ram that comes with Macbook is way too little. It is pretty EASY to add more RAM all by yourself. For instruction, check Apple's web site.

(3) keyboard feels crappy, compared to the Macbook pro keyboard.
