Strengths: Closest shave, comfortable, lightweight, beautiful design, quiet operation, wet/dry capability.
Weaknesses: Not induction recharged.
Summary: I have an older wet/dry Panasonic which is truly induction recharged which I love, however it is louder and slower speed than the ES8228S. With this one I still tend to apply just a film of gel type shaving cream which serves as a lubricant plus I can warm up the shaving head with warm water either in the shower or at the lavatory. Results are always outstanding. When I travel I only take the shaver in the travel pouch and have never run out of charge, but am usually back after no more than one week. It's so nice I actually worry about it being stolen and have actually put it in the mini safe when I'm out. The cleaning station works great, but I only plan to use it occasionally since the shaver cleans up very nicely under the faucet with a little soap solution, etc. My ONLY disappointment is that it does not employ induction type recharging. Something about having to insure that the contacts are engaged just bothers me. Not a huge issue, but I'd say it's the only feature lacking that prevents me from calling the ES8228S the perfect shaver. Even so, it deserves nothing less than the highest rating. Did you get that, Panasonic shaver design team?
