Strengths: Intel made an excellent product here...great for applications, gaming, and everything else you throw at it. AMD's processor is dog poo compared to it, in my opinion.
Weaknesses: It gets very hot, too hot...a good heatsink and adequate ventilation required.
Summary: If you're in the market for a new processor...look no further than Intel's P4 1.8Ghz.

System is a SOYO P4S Dragon Ultra w/ USB 2.0 and High Point RAID ATA133 built in, two WD 120Gig HD's with 8MB cache in RAID 0 Array, Geforce4 Xtasy 128MB Ti4600, Plextor 40/12/40 CDR Writer, Toshiba DVD-ROM, MAXI Sound Game Theatre XP and Klipsch 5.1 speakers.

Strengths: Awsome multimedia. Great for media ripping and 3d rendering.
Weaknesses: Heats up. Need good ventilation.
Summary: I purchased the processor and after installing it, I had many problems with the motherboard but once that was fixed the chip worked like a dream.

To give you an idea, here's my configuration: P4 1.8Ghz, Intel D850MV motherboard, 256 RDRAM, Voodoo3 2000 16MB PCI, Adaptec 2940U2W, Intel 10/100 NIC, Seagate 18.2 7200 SCSI drive, Seagate 9.1 7200 SCSI drive, 8X IDE DVD-ROM, and a Plextor 10x12x32 CD-RW.

Web browsing with DSL is ultra fast, media ripping is quick and clean, 3d rendering is quick and crisp. This processor is fantastic (though you must keep in mind - I just came up from an AMD K6/3 450 on IDE HDs).
