1 Star ReviewDissatisfied withMotolola's Customer Service (lack thereof)
Strengths: Abundance of desireable features
Weaknesses: Handset battery life is minimal
Summary: Noticed that the Professional Review says long battery life lets you talk for up to six hours. We purchased a base unit and three additional handsets in July 2005 and fully charged each handset for 24 hours before using. There was no info about battery usage/life in the owner's manual, so we placed each handset on their chargers after every call.

After about a year, we noticed that the phones wouldn't hold a charge for even 30 minutes. We would be cut off in the middle of a call, without receiving a low battery warning or beep.

Four months later, we replaced all four handset batteries ($16.50 each) purchased from a local battery store. They said we should keep the handset off the chargers until we receive a low battery warning. Again, we fully charged each one for over 24 hours. We keep the handsets off their chargers. Each handset now only has a standby time of 24-48 hours and 15-20 minutes of talk time. The battery range indicator is not reliable either; after talking 15 minutes, it appears that the batteries are depleted, but phone can last another day and a half. It's difficult to know when to place it on charger.

It's frustrating to call somewhere for customer service...hold for ten minutes, get half way through the call and then get cut off without any warning (there is no audible low battery warning).

Comparatively, we own two Panasonic cordless phones which can stay off their chargers for approximately two weeks and they always beeps for at least two minutes before cutting off.

We're very disappointed in these Motorola cordless phones after spending over $400 on them, and $70 on additional batteries. We have gone back and forth with Motorola Customer Service. The phones are supposed to have a 6 hour talk time and a 6 day standby time. Ours are obviously defective. After initially telling Motorola we purchased the phones 1-1/2 years ago, they said the would run the warranty which sounded as if they would replace them, but then came back to say they were out of warranty. They do not have a repair facility either.

This was an expensive lesson for a product that only worked properly for one year.

2 Star ReviewThe phone is OK and the handset speakerphone is ve ...
Strengths: Speakerphone on handset is clear and fairly loud and appears that people on the other end can hear clearly, a big plus in my opinion.
Weaknesses: Cannot stand recorded voice info before every recorded message. No way to turn it off. Taking back phone for this reason alone. Manual not clear for some items.
Summary: The phone is OK and the handset speakerphone is very good. That one thing about the voice info before every single message is a big fat zero in my book. That is the only reason I wrote this review because of how much I hate that feature. It would be OK if you could turn it off but I can't figure out how and the book does not indicate that you can turn that feature off.
