Strengths: Enables an XboX to output high quality composite-video digital signal and Dolby Digital playback!
Weaknesses: Microsoft charges you ~$20 for something that should have been included with your XboX purchase. (Or the Advanced AV Pack)
Summary: This addition is intended for those of us who are "blessed" with Audio/Video (A/V) equipment that has digital inputs. These features are included with most of the modern-day low-end electronics available, so it doesn't take much to be part of the crowd. Once you have the equipment and this pack, output your XboX's Digital Video signal to your TV or receiver via the three RCA component connectors and the Dolby Digital Audio signal using the Optical connector. (Ignore the two RCA audio connectors)
What kind of differences can you expect? The results depend on the equipment you are using, of course, providing noticeableably better results for higher-end TVs and audio equipment. I can say that even the low-end *modern* TV gamers will notice a difference in comparison to the standard RCA connectors provided with the XboX. The video will have better color saturation and clarity, whereas the audio will be crystal clear in all its 6 separate signals of pure bliss. Let me also add that the game has a huge impact on the difference, make sure to use ones that have these features in mind when doing a comparison. (ie. Halo 2)
Bottom Line: The HD A/V Pack offers two crucial features that are *necessary* for anyone with a HDTV or receiver that has component video switching and 5.1 surround sound system with dolby digital receiver. As great as it is, it has one major flaw, it should have been included with the Xbox as a default accessory and thus loses a star.

Strengths: Vast improvement over standard definition gaming. Very easy to use.
Weaknesses: None that I've found yet.
Summary: No one should have an Xbox and a high-definition TV without the High Definition AV Pack for Xbox. Extremely straightforward and easy to use. Just enable the high-definition and surround sound in the Microsoft dashboard and your off to high-definition gaming pleasure!

Strengths: Component Video, Dolby Digital Sound.
Weaknesses: Optical cable not included.
Summary: I don't have a high definition t.v., but my t.v. does have component inputs, and I have a D.D./DTS surround system, so I thought I'd give this pack a try. I am very pleased with the results after hooking it up. The image is considerably better than the standard rca a/v cables supplied with the Xbox. The pack doesn't come with the optical cable needed to take advantage of Dolby Digital surround, but I had an extra one lying around. If you have component inputs or a surround sound receiver, pick this up.

Strengths: Much sharper picture than with regular video cables
Weaknesses: there are higher quality cables available
Summary: Using the high def kit, the picture was much sharper on my big screen hdtv than when i used the regular cables. it was a very clear and obvious difference and was well worth the money. recommended for anyone with an hdtv.

Strengths: great picture clarity, no dropouts or pixelization
Weaknesses: none
Summary: i tried 2 other 3rd party brands and this one is simply the best brand to get when it comes to component and 5.1 audio. the 3rd party adapters do not even compare.

Strengths: Superior video quality, easy to set up, great picture, well worth the small cost (cables for my DVD player cost $30).
Weaknesses: Short cables, no optical cable included ($30 extra)
Summary: This High-Def/DD pack is great. Noticable difference in picture quality before and after installation. Rather inexpensive, too. For real A/V buffs, go for the Monster Pack.

Strengths: Graphics are awesome with high def games and non high def games. Dolby sound is sweet too.
Weaknesses: None to find yet.
Summary: This is a great addition to this system adds great crisp graphics, I many never leave it alone now. Also with the optical audio cord hooked up the audio is unbelivable. If you have a high def TV go out and get this for the xobox you will notice a big difference.

Strengths: Clear instructions.
Everything that was required for the hookup.
Weaknesses: Short cables.
Summary: This product certainly works as advertised. Everything that was required to hook my 65" widescreen TV component inputs up to the Xbox was included. Microsoft should realize that many people have big televisions these days and provide cables that are at least 6' long. I got everything hooked up, but another 6" either way and it would have been trouble.
