2 Star ReviewThere is also a 5.1 version of this model, and it ...
Strengths: Nice crisp aluminum drivers they do the highs almost as well as a tweeter would. Remote looks nice, and has a good level of functionality. Sub picks up relativly low bass
Weaknesses: over priced, 20-50 bucks more, and you can ge thte 641's, wich are alot better.
Summary: There is also a 5.1 version of this model, and it is ***almost*** the same price as the 641's. the sub(s) in this set are wimpy. turn them up all the way, and its not even bloody loud. They do sound kinda nice at the low volumes they pump out

Strengths: Wonderful sound that fills the room, great crisp sounds, all four speakers register each bullet and frag.
Weaknesses: Well the woofer cover broke, but I dont know if thats ALTEC's falt. No cover for speakers.
Summary: GREAT!!!!!! The price is a steal. Buy this now! The speakers are great. Not a good cover for the speakers delicate parts not covered. Not good for a family(i.e. kids might break the speakers ): ).

Strengths: Strong, loud volume level with no distortion. Excellent "balance" between front and rear satellites.
Weaknesses: Like any satellite/subwoofer system, mid range is lacking.
Summary: I am very happy with the Altec 4100's. Music sounds great in the Stereo 2X mode, and the 3D surround for gaming is superb. The rear channel cables are very long, about 12 feet. I've purchased other surround systems and then needed to go buy extension cables. Glad I didn't have to worry about it this time. The price vs. performance is second to none!

Strengths: Absolute bass and sound power for under 100 dollars.
Weaknesses: None yet
Summary: I have owned the Altec Lansing ADA885 which were number one for a while. When they died, I tried the 4100. Honestly, have not found a difference yet.
