Strengths: Exceptional AM/FM reception
Powerful crisp sound

Weaknesses: Possibly a bit sensitive to less-than-perfect CDs
Summary: I just had the Pioneer DEH-1400 installed on my Jeep and I am absolutely impressed! The quality of sound on FM as well as CD is more than I hoped for. I didn't want to spend a fortune in a CD player but I wanted decent quality to listen to the CDs I burned from my '70s albums. I found the DEH-1400 through E-tronics online for around $125.00 including shipping and handling so, for the price, I thought I'd give it a try. FANTASTIC! When I crank that baby up I feel like I'm in the front row at a Bad Company concert! AND, my 18-year-old son thinks it's a great unit as well....and you know how hard-to-please an 18-year-old is. I did, however, try to play one CD that was a bit scuffed and scratched. It wouldn't play on this unit but played fine on my computer CD player so the DEH-1400 "might" be a bit overly sensitive. However, any other CD I tried worked great. I'd definitely recommend this unit to anyone...even those who don't pinch pennies quite as hard as I do.
