Strengths: Setup, great picture, bright bold colors
Weaknesses: The 120Hz, may need firmware update out of box
Summary: This is a good if not great TV... There are just a few things that make it not quite perfect. The picture is awesome very little complaint there.

It is the new technology that causes a few issues. The 120Hz feature is not 100% yet, and is glitchy. The latest firmware helps with this but it is still not perfect. Basically the tv takes a 60Hz signal then converts it to 120hz. To do this is adds frames. It is supposed to help make the scenes look smooth, but on some sources it makes it choppy. It has been dubbed the TBE or triple ball effect... If you are watching football on a long pass you may see trails on the ball. It does not happen all the time however you can turn this feature off if you don't like it; you may need the latest firmware to disable it. I am hoping they are able to fix this in future releases of the firmware.

Overall great picture and I would recommend this set!

Strengths: fantastic picture on hd and standard plus dvd
Weaknesses: can't control comcast box with remote
Summary: The picture is great right out of the box with all kinds of control for the picture and sound if you need it. The remote is lite for a dark room and the menu is good. I was going to buy a Sony but found the picture and sound better here. I love the 120hertz. and the blacks are really black . I also like the no reflection screen. Buy this -it's the best for the money!

Strengths: 1080P, easy installation, smaller width than Most LCDs/Plasmas in 40" size, built in HD tuner and great specifications which translate to great performance.
Weaknesses: Occasional choppy graphics from poor antenna signal strength and/or triple ball effect.
Summary: This is my first LCD HD tv and in my opinion the best value for the money when compared to all the others in this size range. The picture is amazing, the connections are plentiful, easily accessable and installation was seamless.

Strengths: Unbelievable picture. Easy setup. No glare on the screen. Great at any viewing angle.
Weaknesses: Sound is slightly muffled, but no complaints.
Summary: Just a great TV. Just got it and even the plain DirecTV picture is a wonder to behold. The 120MHz really allows rapid movements of the screen to look almost 3-Dish. And this is with a non-HDTV DirecTV receiver. Watched Law and Order on it, and it seemed that the actors could almost jump out of the picture with the flawless movements.

I can't wait to get DirecTV HD on it! Definitely worth the $1500 average price is on the Internet. The extra $250 for the 120MHz is worth it!

Strengths: Picture clarity, anti-glare screen, remote control
Weaknesses: Not sure if the 120-GHz technology is up to par yet; don't like the heat-sensitive controls
Summary: I ordered this TV after months of research. I wanted a TV that offered the best picture quality, but not cutting edge technology and at a price that I could afford. Overall, we're thrilled with our choice! The picture quality is tremendous, the remote is easy to use, and the set looks great in the living room. We're not fans of the touch controls (not buttons) on the frame, as our kids of learned to use them...also, not sure we understand the 120 GHz technology, but we're willing to wait for firmware upgrades to work out the kinks. Overall, the 4069 is a winner in our books!

Strengths: Great high definition picture! Standard television looks good as well. Lot's of input options!
Weaknesses: None noted so far.
Summary: After researching a 40-42" high definition purchase for over three years, I finally decided on the LNT4069. It's color saturation is fabulous with vivid colors, deep blacks, and great contrast. There are plenty of input options. Not sure about the speakers as I use a home theater system for my sound.

The menus are somewhat obscure, but if you look far enough there are plenty of video adjustments to create the perfect picture.

Remote control is okay, but the buttons are small.

Overall very satisfied with the purchase. I highly recommend this TV.

Yes, I finally decided that LCD would be better than Plasma. Of course, I do use this TV in a very bright natural light room.

Strengths: The picture. The wide viewing angle. The adjust ability of sound and picture. Intuitive menu.
Weaknesses: None apparent.
Summary: 2007-12-11 13:09:44 I have researched and looked at LCD and Plasma TV's for at least a year.

I even purchased a smaller LCD TV so I could get an idea of what features I really wanted in a larger flat panel. I knew what size fit my needs.

When the Samsung LN-T4069F came out I knew this was it.

The flexibility of sound and picture adjustments are great. You can start up a BASIC setup and then 'tweak' almost any color and sound adjustment you want. The possibilities are too numerous to list but suffice it to say you can adjust EVERYTHING to your liking.

The picture is excellent. No more shiny screen like previous Samsung LCD's. This one has a semi-gloss screen, so no reflections. According to the 'specs' the contrast ratio is slightly less than the LNT4071, but with the clarity of this LCD you cannot tell any difference.

One point I will stress about LCD selection- view a lot of different scenes from EXTREME angles (to the maximum of the 178 degree angle ). This Samsung LCD TV will show virtually NO loss of contrast or color shift as opposed to lesser LCD's.

The Auto Motion Plus 120 Hz really stops the jerky movements and the artifacts. You can set it to whatever effect you want depending on what you normally watch. This is a REAL improvement over lesser LCD's.

The sound is excellent for a stand alone TV. Of course if you have a home theater setup you might say it is not. The quality of the sound is fully adjustable with the built in equalizer.

I especially like the ability to 'move' the picture up or down when you show a 4:3 on the 16:9 display. EX: Most TV is still transmitted 4:3. You have a few options on how you view things. Most novices just STRETCH the picture (height and width) which makes everyone look FAT. Or you can view it as actual 4:3, which wastes a lot of 16:9 LCD TV viewing area. I do a ZOOM 1, which fits the WIDTH of the picture and in doing so has to CLIP the TOP/BOTTOM and sometimes the head of a person is CLIPPED. This TV allows you to move the viewed picture down to prevent this. Until ALL TV is 16:9 this is an important feature.

The menu system is very user friendly. I am a stickler on this point. If it isn't intuitive I get irritated.

Minor annoyance - I have a DISH SATELLITE receiver and the Samsung CODES don't seem to allow me to power it on or off. However my DISH control operates the Samsung.

Take advantage of my long hours of research and buy this TV if it fits your size requirements. You won't be sorry.

Strengths: Amazing picture, no glare (even near our patio door w/ the blinds open), wide viewing angle w/ no distortion, surprisingly good sound, compact size, and number of inputs.
Weaknesses: Remote doesn’t allow me to quickly choose a specific source, digital audio output doesn’t really work as expected (disabled when using HDMI), PIP only works w/ analogue input from coax connection.
Summary: I spent a year comparing TVs; researching to figure out what features I wanted and waiting for the TVs w/ those features to fall into the price range I was looking for ($1500 - $2000). I decided right away that I wanted an LCD rather than a Plasma TV, which seems to have been a sound decision given the fact that most manufacturers are putting the bulk of their energy into developing bigger & better LCD TVs these days and there are far fewer Plasma TVs on the market than there was even a year ago. My main concerns for Plasma where the high energy usage, screen burn, and that it’s a more fragile unit than an LCD TV.

Once I decided on LCD, I narrowed my search down to a couple brands, and found that Samsung seems to have all the right features and generally the best picture quality for the right price. I then went to work on figuring out what everyone had to say about the models I was interested in, and narrowed my search even more. I was down to a few different models in the end, and decided to go w/ this one for a few reasons. One, I have a big glass patio door in the room where the TV will go, so the new clear cover feature on the 4066 & 4071 models would not work in that environment (too much glare – just look at how many store lights you can see reflected in them compared to the matte finish screens). I live in a fair sized apartment, but still only sit 8-12 feet from the TV so anything much bigger than 40” was just going to be overkill at this point.

I would recommend that anyone in the market for an HDTV go to a store and start comparing them. I was surprised by the subtle differences between each make and model of TV out there. I heard more than one couple exclaim that there were too many options and they just couldn’t decide which one they wanted. I told a few people to make a list of important features, and use that to narrow down their options.

As for my selection; overall, this TV is amazing! HD is crystal clear, it handles sporting events very well, my Xbox 360 games look amazing on it, my old DVD's look great on the Sony upconverting DVD player I bought w/ the TV, and SD television isn't even that bad. It automatically stretches the SD channels to fit the screen so I don't have to mess with zooming or stretching, and the effect looks quite natural (i.e. people don't look distorted).

I did find a few things that bum me out about this TV. The first is that if you want digital quality sound to go to your surround receiver from your TV, your only input option is an analogue connection (the digital out is disabled if your connection is HDMI, and if you run a separate audio in from HDMI or use the Component connection, it will only output 2 channel audio). Otherwise, you have to run a separate optical cable from each source to your receiver. I was expecting to do very little source changing on my surround receiver now that most everything is connected directly to my TV, but that apparently isn’t possible if I want to take advantage of the digital audio. I guess I don’t mind running a few extra cables, but now I can't just select the source I want on my TV and watch it, I have to also tune my receiver to the right source as well (I haven’t fully researched this issue to find out if there is good reason behind the TV not handling the digital audio yet, so part of my grip may prove to be invalid… but I still don’t like it).

This also leads me to my second gripe, which is that I have to keep hitting the source button on my remote until I get to the right one (i.e. DVD input, Xbox input, etc). There are already separate buttons on the remote for running each source, why can’t the TV switch to that source when I press that button (seems logical to me). Even if they to add a few more buttons to allow you to select the source you want, that would make life much easier IMO. I should note that this appears to be the same on each of the Samsung TVs that I looked at.

The third issue I have with this TV is that my only option for PIP input is via the analogue coax input. Why would I buy an HD television and all that comes with it, and then only be able to watch SD programming in the PIP window??? Just a thought.

That bit of whining aside, I love this TV and would have to say that it’s worth a look for those of you in the market for something in the 40” range. Samsung seems to be among the top of its class. If you do your homework, you’ll find that to be true for just about every model they have out.

Strengths: Matte finish screen -- non reflective, excellent picture quality
Weaknesses: I had ghosting image when I played DVD's without the use of HDMI cable. Switching to HDMI cable got rid of this problem.
Summary: I bought this TV a month ago after a lot of research. It is 1080P, 120 HZ and has a non-reflective screen. If you use a new DVD with a HDMI cable, the quality is almost as good as a blu ray disc.

I suggest this for any viewer who is confused on what TV to buy (specially when you dont know too much about them).

Strengths: The 120hz motion plus technology along with great contrast, color, and screen resolusion variations make All media sources look 10X better than on standard HDTVs.
Weaknesses: Are you kidding me?.......
Summary: This HDTV is also great for gaming. Its like adding more memory, processing power, and an extra graphics card to your gaming system whether its a Xbox 360 or a PS3.
