Strengths: Easy setup, good picture quality, fully updated XP compatible drivers (via web site download)
Weaknesses: Interface a little oversimplified with a heavy dependency on the built-in remote. MPEG2 recordings stored in proprietary format making export to SVCD difficult (impossible) without 3rd party software.
Summary: If all you want to do is watch TV on your computer, this is a great buy. Creative always has excellent product support but you won't need it for this easy installation. I was up and running in 5 minutes.

Strengths: MPG realtime coder decoder processor on board
Weaknesses: no closed captions on broadcast signal, I am hard of hearing .... big dissapointment
Summary: it has software for exporting MPG recorded files into editable (even SVCD) formats included on CD, previous reviever overlooked it maybe, other than missing closed caption decoder it is all good, you even can use it for saving anything connected to it (video camera, any videosource ...) into high quality MPG2 format and easily transfer it into editable format and make your custom DVD
