Strengths: Brightness,Contrast, progressive DVD picture, and regular TV picture and of course HDTV progressive downscan to make a beautiful picture.
Weaknesses: Guarantee is only at factory. You must send the unit to the factory for repair.
Summary: Ok, I did many months of reviewing this product in stores using the eyeball test. It has 852x480 pixels. This is not exactly HDTV but what is called EDTV (enhanced digital tv)The HDTV sets are 1024x768 and above. So why buy it for $3,600? How about the best picture using DVD progressive scan player on the market! Even the HDTV sets have a 5% poorer picture! It also has the best picture using standard 480i on regular tv plasma. Did you know that the HDTV plasma sets show a poor picture using regular TV signals than the Panasonic PT42PD3p. Did you know that the HDTV plasmas are only 10-15% better with a 1080i or 720p signal. Why? This site gave me the answers and I went to the stores and found it to be true. Get the answers at: www.plasmatvbuyingguid... Then go back to pricegrabber, find your best price like I did and enjoy!!

Strengths: Tremendous Picture with really easy hookup.
Weaknesses: No internal speakers which is common with other models.
Summary: After comparing many models for about 2 months I finally settled on the Panasonic 42". The commercial model comes with the table stand (not really useful if you are wall mounting the plasma) and costs a little more than the industrial version. All in all I had it set up on the wall in about 1 hour (including wall mount installation). I did the wiring myself and had no problem. I watch DTV via S-video and am very happy with the picture. I hooked my progressive scan dvd via composite video and am amazed at the picture. I have the HDTV tuner coming from panasonic but am not sure how that will benefit me considering that the dtv picture is already amazing. I would absolutely recommend this tv but it seeems that the price is dropping by $75 every two weeks.

Strengths: picture quality
Weaknesses: NA
Summary: the picture is phenomenal! price is good. super! It was easy to connect. The remote is simple to use and Panasonic has a live manual on their website. I am very pleased. We were able to connect VCR and DVD and speakers with no trouble. The weight is only 60lbs and the set has built in handles so it is easy to move around.
