Strengths: Very good picture quality
Compact size with built-in DVD player
Weaknesses: poor volume control response
Summary: The Regza line of TV's from Toshiba are known for their high quality. The 26" LCD TV/DVD Combo lives up to my expectations. I also own a 26" Magnavox LCD TV/DVD Combo, so a direct comparison is valuable. The Magnavox cost about $75.00 less than the Toshiba. First off, the picture quality is about the same for both sets ... maybe a slight edge to the Toshiba. Neither set does well with reproducing black areas, too much gradiant in the image. But, this is pretty standard with LCD screens. While both sets have a large number of rear and side connections, the Magnavox has more. I like the top location for the onoff, volume controls on the Magnavox better than the side location on the Toshiba. The DVD player located on the side of the Toshiba makes for a thinner TV than the front mounted DVD player on the Magnavox. A big plus for the Toshiba is its remote with multi-component control. The Magnavox has a very basic remote control. The Toshiba really shines in the number of on-screen adjustment options compared to the Magnavox. The Toshiba is much better in automatically adjusting the screen size. Sometimes the Magnavox will flip back and forth between screen sizes when set to automatic. One small problem with the Toshiba is a short time delay when adjusting the volume. When you press the volume button, nothing happens for a few seconds ... I've never seen this on any other TV, including a Toshiba 65" projection screen TV I own. Both TV's have upconverting DVD players and they both work flawlessly. Overall, I'd give the "nod" to the Toshiba over the Magnavox. But, not by much!
