Coby 1.5" Keychain Digital Photo Frame, 1 ea

Don't bother with this product or this company

Strengths: Nice idea...

Weaknesses: ...too bad it doesn't work. Poor picture quality, short battery life and doesn't work with many computers. Tech support is TERRIBLE.

Summary: I bought two Coby digital key chains for gifts. Several of the reviews I read prior to making the purchase reported problems with the device not working, so before I gave the key chains as gifts, I tested them out by loading some photos on them. The instructions are pretty hard to follow, but everything initially worked fine. I was very disappointed with the quality of the picture and the battery doesn't hold a charge for very long.

The problems started when the people who received the Coby digital key chains as gifts tried to load photos on them. They got a message saying the device is not recognized. The troubleshooting guide, which is paltry at best, says this error is due to either a bad USB cable or a bad USB port on the computer. Clearly the cable is fine if it worked on my computer. We tested the USB ports on both the computers with other devices and they work fine.

Having eliminated both items in the troubleshooting guide, I contacted Coby's technical support. I have NEVER encountered tech support this poor! After taking several days to respond, all they did was email me the troubleshooting guide (the same one I already had) and basically told me to figure it out on my own. When I complained and tried to explain that I'd tried everything in the troubleshooting guide and it had not worked, they responded by sending me an email with...you guessed it...the exact same troubleshooting guide again! Only this time they pasted the text into the email rather than sending me the pdf -- as if that would make a difference! I am returning this product and I will never purchase anything from this company again. They clearly don't care about their customers after they get your money.

Technology at it

Strengths: Looks cute

Weaknesses: Terrible software, extremely slow transfer, poor image quality, cheap plastic feel, and the thing simply does not work.

Summary: This is just not worth the money. If it was free, it would not be worth it because of the hassle involved to put photos on it. There is nothing worthwhile at all about this product.

poor product

Strengths: good idea

Summary: I bought two for family members and neither works - the software won't load - we tried four different computers and still cannot get these things to work

Great Gift!

Strengths: Easy to use. Easy to load. Nice size with curved edges so it fits nicely in pocket.

Weaknesses: Hard to find.

Summary: We bought these for all of our family members for Christmas. We loaded family pictures for the grandparents. The software was simple to use and we loaded ~60 pictures in just a few minutes each. Everyone loved this gift!
