Summary: I have purchase a Philips DVD 5-Disc Player from Fry’s Electronic. Right from the start, I notice that the player is not running correctly. About 1hr into a movie the movie would start to shakes and I can no longer watch it from that point. At first I thought it could be the DVD movie disc itself so I have hold off on calling in for replacement. Several month past and I had very little time to watch DVD but then would notice any movie I watch experienced the same problem. When I finally decided to call into Tech Support the first time, a technician had me perform a factory reset and gave me a case number to call back if this doesn’t work. I follow his instruction to perform a factory reset which of course did not cure the problem. I call back and was told that I have to pay an additional $59 bucks just to get the unit exchange because it has pass the 90days from date of purchase free-exchange policy!!! The unit is still under the 1st year warranty. There was no written statement about such warranty policy or expiration period in the warranty card!!! I ask to speak to the supervisor or manager but was told that I would get the same reply from them??? Can you believe that! My recommendation to everyone is that if you’re thinking of buying any Philips products … PREPARE TO GET SCREWED IF THE DAMN THING DON’T WORK!!!
