Strengths: GREAT sound, EASY setup, can be used as 3.1, clear and powerful enough
Weaknesses: no "wiggle" room, no video switching, and only one digital DVD/SAT input, a little too bright blue LED on woofer.
Summary: Folks, it's hard to rate this product with so many awesome systems out there. This system is NOT for tech savys nor guys who want more buttons and plugs than a 747's cockpit. No, this is for the family guy who went all out on a 42"+ lcd/plasma! EASY setup, REALLY! No worry about rear spkr wiring and stands because the rear spkrs CAN be attached to the front in a 3.1 config but still 5.1. I dread the thought of running rear spkr wires and spkr stands. The box this came in was small and LIGHT, gave an impression it's a cheaply built system. NO WAY! If you have 1 coax/opt dvd souce, 1 cab/sat (rca), 1 vcr then this is 4 U! I used the vcr input for my BOSE Wave radio for radio and cds. The spkr wires as attached, and two were a bit too short (for me). If you have this sys under your tv, then the wiring will be ok! My sys is to the right of my tv, hence the left spkr wires are 2' short. I spliced additional wire to them w/o any probs! This is only a SOUND system, not an A/V system. You will have to select what is on screen and then select the sound source... maybe a bummer to some. If all this were included, well, they system will be 100-300 more!
