Strengths: Ultra Sophisticated Selectivity, Ability to Program Radar and Speed Traps, Automatically builds DataBase on False Alarms. Digital Speedometer, GPS Locator, Avg and High Speeds etc. & VERY programable.
Weaknesses: Actual distance on Radar Bands not quite up to Passport 8500 and Valentine 1 But Definitely Sensitive (On Par if not better than Passport 7500). Instruction Manual suited for ADD Types like DaddyD
Summary: Purchased Scanners Unlimited, San Carlos, Glenn Cohn the owner for even a better price than any I could find on Internet/pricegrabber.com or EBAY.

I've own Valentine One (recently updated), Various Cobra, Whistlers , Bels etc. So far this Multi-Purpose Detector is far more sophisticated than the others because of its unique GPS system. It will store up to 5000 GPS Locations of typical nuisance falses... I'm sure its utilizing Speed of your vehicle, Duration of Alarm, Signal Strength of Alarm and Actual Frequency Signatures.

This model is SOOO Selective that some have been sent back by owners believing them to be defective when they probably weren't.

Once any type of suspicious Radar is FIRST encountered the GPSRD signals "New Radar" while it analyzes it. By our previous experience it is obviously a False Radar Alert since it COMES & GOES quickly at low signal strength. The GPSRD AUTOMATICALLY logs it as a false and the NEXT time traveling through the same precise (GPS)area, unless there is a NEW type of Radar Signature, the GPSRD does NOT react.

I was able to travel down several down town areas and the GPSRD noted the NEW Radar Signals and Locations and responded with the "New Radar" based on my Level Alert which was Defaulted at #2. The next repeat pass.... WALA... GPSRD was QUIET.

If you encounter a Traffic Officer with Instant On that is NOT activating his gun... merely MARK the location as a SPEED Trap... be aware.

Strengths: Works exactly as described.
Weaknesses: Is not smart enough to point out shortest direction to destination.
Summary: Perhaps one of the best gadgets of the year. Does what it claims it can do. Recently went to Orlando and marked my hotel as "Home" before proceeding to unknown places. The GPSRD guided me to my hotel without hassles or need to ask strangers for direction. Other neat features include accurate reading of speed and compass directions. Deserves a 4.5 but since 4.5 equals 5, then I give 5.

Strengths: Great design, well thought out. Design engineers probably used RDs for a long time before they designed this one.
Weaknesses: Wish I could download waypoints to it. You have to be there once before you can set a position.
Summary: I'm a geek, and I'm very demanding about new technology. This is an 8 on a 0-10 scale, and I don't think I've given a 9 or 10 ever.
