Strengths: Loaded with features. Great speaker phone on handset. Great battery life.
Weaknesses: Sound quality especially on answering machine could be better.
Summary: I've read many reviews before buying this one. I thought basically only had two choices if I wanted to get a phone system which enables intercom. This one or the Panasonic. I decided on this one because other reviewers weren't too thrilled with the battery life of the Panasonic. This one allows upto 4 handsets and you can access the ansering machine from any handset. I have 2 handsets so far and am pleased with the phones. My wife who's not technical at all thinks it's too complicated and is working through the manual to figure out all features. I can pretty much figure out what I want the phone to do, but if not, the manual is pretty straight forward. Best feature that I like by far is the handset speaker phone. Press the speaker phone button and talk hands free. The battery life is great too although I don't like to talk on the phone for more than 10 minutes at a time, my wife can be on it for an hour. Battery life indicator tells you how much battery life is left before you need to recharge.

The overall sound quality is fair. This phone replaces my old Panasonic 900Mhz. The Panasonic had near corded phone quality. This Siemens does not. The answering machine sound quality is even worse, but who cares as long as you can hear the message. It's digital so no tapes to mess with.

Overall, I'd give it a 7.5 out of 10. If the Panasonic didn't have battery problems, I would have gotten the Panasonic. Lots of features like a cell phone.

Strengths: sleek looks
Weaknesses: Display is unreadable because of cheap semi-opaque plastic window and low brightness display. Menu system incomprehensible.
Summary: I thought this would be a good new technology advanced phone. It may be in features but its ergonomics and usability are completely unacceptable.

3 Star ReviewA number of features like room monitor, voice dial ...
Strengths: Excellent sound quality and range. All operations available from handset.
Weaknesses: Lousy caller ID display. No headset jack. Expensive.
Summary: A number of features like room monitor, voice dialing, and external speaker in handset makes this phone very useful. I like the fact that you can perform all operations from the handset, including retrieving the answering machine calls. The room monitor feature will automatically call a stored phone number (next door neighbor, for example) if a sound in the room reaches a certain level. So you can visit a friend, leave the phone in little junior's room and monitor him/her from a remote location. That makes it easy to visit the neighbor while little junior is snoozing.

But the caller ID display is a serious pain. I'm a caller ID fanatic and use the caller ID log to return missed calls. This phone has three lines of text in the display but uses the first line to tell you that this is a/n "New call" "Old call" "Call answered" or "Answering machine". The second line to display phone number, and the last line for the time/date. WHO CARES IF IT IS AN OLD CALL??? I want to see the caller's name in the initial display. In order to see the caller's name you must scroll thru several menus. A serious setback to an otherwise excellent phone.

Strengths: The phone works
Weaknesses: Poor sound quality. Poor battery life
Summary: This phone has lots of features, but is basically of very poor quality. The sound quality is very bad. The talk time is perhaps a half an hour before the phone suddenly goes dead. This is a very disappointing telephone for the price.
