Strengths: This item is great! I can now play my iPod using the auxilery port on the XA-300. This works with my current car receiver and I can control the sound from my receiver!
Weaknesses: There was nowhere to put my XA-300 on the dash because it complements the car receiver. I leave it hanging in my car because there was no room for it.
Summary: 2004-04-19 09:16:44 This item is great if you want to use an iPod, or a CD player and want to utilize the full power of your speakers! I've only had it for one day and I'm getting the most out of this product. I hooked up a dvd player and can watch movies using my surround sound in car speakers. This product is wonderful!

Strengths: expands head units allows multiple inputs
Weaknesses: price; would be nice to have mounting holes instead of relying on velcro to hold it in place; Sony's insistance on not including AUX inputs
Summary: I bought this to add in an external MP3 player. It works as advertised, but I think it reveals how Sony nickel and dimes it's users. The head unit I'm using this with was around $300 new, and nearly every other head unit from other manufacturers at this price point has AUX inputs standard.

3 Star ReviewXM Radio Captability
Strengths: NA
Weaknesses: NA
Summary: 2005-07-11 12:46:37 Tried using this adapter with an iPod and XM Radio. It worked great with the iPod, but when you connect the Terk Universal Tuner Box(XMD1000) and Terk Smart Digital Adapter, it does not work. I have a Sony CDX-F7710 head unit, and as soon as i connected the XM equipment(to the XA-300), my head unit went haywire. Everytime you select a different source, change a sound setting, etc..., the head unit shuts off. A nice unit, but not compatible with XM Radio. Hopefully Sony realizes this and makes the necessary adjustments.
