Strengths: Wonderful sound and performance. Great FM performance. Easy to install.
Weaknesses: Too many features being set up with too few front panel buttons. You will never be able to remember the setup routines without the manual in your glovebox. Volume control about 1/8" inch too short.
Summary: It replaced an older Kenwood CD receiver in my 99 Civic. It took me 5 minutes to swap. The mounting bracket has been the same for over 20 years. The cable plug for at least 10 years. Everything was in and out so fast it was amazing. The volume knob is too short to grab with fingertips and you will have a tendancy to push it and enter some setup functions. The right hand fourway button is not finger friendly and sometimes does not operate when pushed. The display can get washed out in bright daylight. I do like the fact that the clock numbers are big and dominent when displayed. Earlier Kenwoods had the clock get lost with tiny numbers surrounded by function displays. The display is too short in length to effectively display performer and track info. It scrolls by too fast. You will get distracted when driving. I wish there was a simple On/Off button instead of cycling through Tuner/CD/Aux/Standby. The remote would be great for someone in the back seat of the car but it is somewhat distracting for me as the driver. To be fair, I am new to it and it is not instintive yet. The audio performance is A+++. It sounds wonderful and there is a lot of control over equalization. I wish it had a SD or MicroSD socket on the front panel. it's amazing the technology and performance Kenwood can stuff in a little steel box. B+ rating. Negative for ergonomics.

Strengths: well known brand for a unbeatable price with great sound and everything u need for your vehicle.
Weaknesses: Controls are complicated,i can't memorize any setup procedure without looking back to the manual.
Summary: It's very worth the price if u don't need a fancy unit. Sound is great and support MP3 and WMA format, plus it comes with AUX input so u can hook up your ipod/MP3 player easily.

3 Star ReviewMY FOURTH KENWOOD UNIT
Strengths: Best Bang for the Buck! Kenwood preset buttons do not fade(paint chip) as easily as other brands. Sound quality is good. Comes with a remote which is not expected for a unit this price!
Weaknesses: With this particular series, the volume knob is difficult to grip and lacks the rubber band that used to be on previous units. Does not come with a plastic or mesh sleeve for the detachable face.
Summary: I have had many units ranging from $70-300. Kenwood units are the best bang for the buck. This unit supports all the basic formats used by today's standard and has a front aux input. Overall this is a great product for someone looking to find a basic replacement for their stock radio. If your looking for something flashy, this is not the unit for you.
