Strengths: Lithium Ion battery charges while plugged into computer.
Very light and compact.
Very easy to use.
Weaknesses: Pictures can be grainy, especially in low light.
Button kind of small.
Summary: The reason I bought the camera is that its low priced with a Lithium Ion battery that charges through a USB cable meaning there is no separate charger needed (but you can get one) Lithium Ion holds a charge for a lot longer than rechargeable AA NiMH batteries do so the battery won’t be dead when you want to use it after it’s been stored for long periods. Plus it reduces weight because they are smaller but store more energy. For those that want to charge while driving like going on a trip you can get a 12v cigarette lighter type plug to USB for as low as 99 cents so it will be ready to go when you get there. No more constantly switching out dead batteries…..That’s Nice! Spare batteries for this camera are pretty inexpensive at around $10. This is my first Kodak camera and I must say the interface is very intuitive and easy to understand, you could hand it to most anyone and they’d know the majority of the features within a few minutes. Overall it takes good pictures and in auto mode it’s near fool proof. They can be little grainy in low light but if you use the 2 second timer and hold the camera very still (think palace guard) you can get decent shots. The buttons are a little small and a bit too flush to the body for my taste but it makes the camera very compact. Because it’s small, light and plastic it feels almost toy like, you’ll have to decide if that’s a problem. You will need a magnifying glass to see the icons on the mode knob (they hired the guy at the carnival that writes names on a grain of rice to print them) Just look at the screen, the modes are indicated there when you turn it. Overall I’m happy it’s a low priced camera that takes good pictures and it will be charged when I need it.
