Strengths: Size, battery life, ease of use, sound quality
Weaknesses: You need to recharge it by plugging it into a port on your computer. If a PC isn't available, it could be a problem while traveling. The battery life of 33 hours should help alleviate this problem.
Summary: I read a few negative comments about the length of the earbud chord, but with the size of this player, I don't think you would want it to be any longer. If I don't use the extension that comes with it, it easily fits in my shirt pocket and doesn't have a dangling chord that catches on everything. It would even be nice if it came with a strap that you could wear around your neck and just let it hang underneath your shirt. It's so small you wouldn't even know it was there. The sound quality surprised me. It sounds as good or even better than my normal CD player. The buttons are strategically placed to allow easy manipulation even in the dark. I'm using it primarily for downloadable books from the library. I was pleasantly surprised that once you have all the 'parts' of the book downloaded, the player continues through all parts without any instruction. It beats having to stop and replace a CD every hour. I was playing with the sound options and found you could select several different 'stereo' sounds that would be excellent for music or provide 'depth' for a narrater on my downloaded books. I haven't filled up the player with many books yet, but with at least 100 hours of playing time available, I don't think I'll get bored. I'm really looking forward to using it when I travel. It couldn't be any more convenient.
