2 Star ReviewNot bad a buds
Strengths: good voice
Weaknesses: bad feeling
Summary: I found this Philips earbuds to be very uncomfortable, even after a ten minutes of listening. Although the package comes with three sizes of ear "cups" that should accommodate any buyer, it still let me feel bad.

Strengths: Comfortable, decent sound quality, good noise damping, great value
Weaknesses: Noise canceling module not designed for active sport application, moderate effectiveness with noise cancelling
Summary: I was looking for a pair nice comfortable headphones with decent sound quality and noise canceling capability. Personally, comfortability is probably the most important factor for me. I am very happy with the quality and features provided by this product.

I found this pair of Philips earbuds to be very comfortable, even after a couple of hours of listening. The package comes with three sizes of ear "cups" that should accommodate any buyer.

The sound quality is quite good. It provides clear and bright sounds across all audio spectrum. Bass may not be deep enough for some people, but it was good enough for me who enjoy light rock and classical music.

The earbuds provide excellent noise dampling, even without the noise cancellation. I tried the noise cancelling feature by staying in a bathroom with its fan turned on. I found the noise cancelling feature somewhat effective. I could definitely feel its effect, but with maybe only 50% cancellation. I tried it without playing any music. I think it will be more effective with music since the noise canceling device actually boosted the sound signal when turned on.

The only thing I did not like the product is its "large" noise cancelling device. Without a way to strap it or clip it to anything, it will simply dangle freely. It would work better if the product can work with a neck strap. Now, it must either be laid on a table or put in a shirt pocket. It is definitely not designed for active sport application.

I did try a pair of Bose over-the-ear headphones (not noise canceling type). Initially, it was quite comfortable. But, I started to feel the pressure on my ears after maybe an hour later. I later returned the Bose. Bose, of course, provide excellent sound quality, and cost 10x more than the Philips.

3 Star ReviewNot bad for the price
Strengths: price, noise canceling ability, size, comfortable fit in the ear
Weaknesses: awkward way to wear, bulky in-line battery holder
Summary: I recently brought these headphones on a trip to the Kingdom of Thailand and thought the noise canceling would be perfect on the over 22 hour flight. They work very well, but the illustration called for the two wires to be put behind the head in a very unorthodox fashion. Even after I was able to figure it out the fit was very uncomfortable, but the ear buds felt fine in the ears. I liked that they came with different sized interchangeable fittings. I just wished that they used the same one wire behind the head design like previous designs. The battery compartment is on the bulky side & I wish was lower on the wire.

For the price they performed very well & I am satisfied with the purchase. I was surprised that the design was not better, being they were from Phillips.

3 Star ReviewGreat earbud from Phillips
Strengths: nice noise canceling feature comfort fit
Weaknesses: Bad wiring connection
Summary: This earphone fits nicely and comfortably in the ear. Design is a big rough since you have to carry a battery pack with you everywhere. Overall, it's an ok earphone.

Strengths: Sould quality. Active noise canceling. Price.
Weaknesses: The battery compartment is too big.
Summary: I saw this earbud at a very affordable price when I surfing online. Then I bought it. For the price (less than $10) the sound quality is good. However, the battery compartment is a little bit big. The noise canceling works great. I tried to use it in Subway in NYC, works like a charm! Very happy with it! Highly recommend!

3 Star ReviewPhilips SHN2500
Strengths: Good all-around sound, affordable, decent battery life, good ambient sound blockage.
Weaknesses: Messy wires, heavy noice reduction circuit w/ no clip.
Summary: I bought these earbuds to help combat some of the sounds that were bothering me at work. I wanted to block out voices, phones ringing, photocopier noise, etc.

These earbuds work pretty well and are reasonably priced. I find them comfortable to wear and they even help block some sounds without the noise canceling turned on. The rubber cups work like earplugs, so I can listen to my music at a lower volume and yet not be bothered by external noise.

I do hear a little "white noise" along with the music when the noise canceling is switched on, but it doesn't bother me. With noise canceling turned on I think the music sounds better, the volume is boosted a little but not super-loud.

I've also tried using these in the car and they block out traffic sounds, open windows, etc. pretty well.

I am happy with this purchase. If I'd had very high expectations I would have bought one of the top-of-the-line, super-expensive sets of noise canceling headphones. I just wanted something comfortable, effective and inexpensive, and these earbuds delivered that nicely.

3 Star Reviewmaybe good enough
Strengths: Compactable, portable, good sound quality, cool style
Weaknesses: Noise cancelling effect is not so good
Summary: The sound quality is quite good, but the noise cancelling seems not very good. I feel it is very comfortable for the ear bud. So I can use it quite long every time.
