Strengths: Processor speed, large and bright screen, fast boot-up, great sound, amazing battery life
Weaknesses: Awkward AC adapter, sluggish touchpad
Summary: I upgraded from an older IBM T20, and boy am I impressed! Purchased at around $500 direct from Dell, which is a very reasonable price compared to other similar machines currently on the market. The Core 2 Duo processor has amazing power, and the 2GB RAM is more than sufficient to accommodate most programs that people run these days, and many of them simultaneously without snagging up the system. While it is a little bulky and heavy, you really get what you pay for in terms of weight because this is such a well-built and stocked machine. I'm very happy with my purchase, and I look forward to many years of productivity from this bad boy!

Strengths: Price, Dell quality and support, quality feel.
Weaknesses: None so far.
Summary: I purchased this notebook for my daughter for Christmas. Dell has been running specials on and off and when this notebook was marked down $410.00 off of list I couldn't refuse! Ordering is easy at the Dell website and there are numerous options available. I purchased this notebook just as it is listed - 1.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 2GB DDR2 memory, 160GB (5200 rpm) hard drive, DVD+-RW dual layer, Windows XP. The only option I chose was the "TrueLife" LCD screen (which was available at no additional charge). This is a glossy instead of matte finish on the LCD screen. It is to improve the quality of the images on the screen but I think it will be easier to clean than the matte screen. We'll see. The notebook is shipped from Dell without antivirus or security software unless you choose it for an additional cost. I opened the notebook to set it up with the software my daughter regularly uses, update Windows Updates and set up the internet. I can't comment on the wireless features yet since I need to pick up a wireless router but with a wired router I was on the internet in no time at all. The feel of the notebook is sturdy and well made. The keyboard is supposed to be spill proof and the keys feel like a standard notebook without any flex in the middle of the keyboard. The notebook is very quiet and I don't recall hearing any fans needing to kick on while I was setting it up. Another area I didn't get a chance to test was the battery life. This is Dell's business line of notebooks and is made rugged for traveling. Perfect for an on the go teenager.

Strengths: Core2Duo
DVD Writer
2GB RAM
Video Card
160 GB HD
Weaknesses: Bulky
may be unattractive for some people as it is only available in black color
Loose battery and latch
Summary: I bought this laptop 3 months back and love it. The power of Core2 Duo is clearly visible and it has spill proof keyboard.
2GB ram and 160GB is pretty good for budget laptop. The screen looks really great.
The only thing is that its a bit bulky so if you are planning to buy it for portability then its not the one in my opinion.
Otheriwse i am very impressed with the featureset and design.

Strengths: low price, good built, good battery life.
Weaknesses: heavy
Summary: I got this notebook when it was on sale, so price wise it's much more affordable than other brands. it is not an eye-catching notebook like the macbook or sony. but the built quality is very good. battery life is not bad, I can finished two movies on the plane with one battery. I like the black metal color than my old compaq grey/silver notebook which got dirty after few weeks of usage. At 1.4GHz, the cpu is not very fast, but the Core 2 Due processor helps. At last, it's a little bulky/heavy to bring around.

Strengths: Good value for the price.
Fast and long battery life
Study design
Lots of options
Weaknesses: Somewhat bulky and heavier than other laptops
Color, keyboard and touch pad not well designed
Summary: It is a good choice for someone looking for a high perforamance laptop at a reasonable price. I have compared other brands and non come close to value for the price. However this is not really designed for frequent carrying or traveling because of the size and weight.

Strengths: Dell is the honda of the computer world. The consistently have the lowest great price for a quality product.
Weaknesses: This particular laptop is pretty bulky.
Summary: Overall, this is a great machine. I am very impressed with the laptop. I think the only downside is their "offshore" customer support which can be frustrating to deal with. Yes, those occassions are few and far.

Strengths: Sturdy
Battery
Weaknesses: Vista
Black can be easily greased up.
Summary: I really enjoy how tough the laptop feels, I feel it is a big improvement over any compaq (i've owned three). This is a great buy for the money! I would recommened at least 2 GB for any Vista configuration

Strengths: Core 2 Duo CPU, sufficient memory and hard drive size, sturdy construction, quiet, good wireless reception and battery life. Having all the functions for my need.
Weaknesses: Bulky for its weight, stick out battery, static interference on internal earphone.
Summary: I bought this laptop when it's on special promotion. I paid $400 for a Core 2 Duo with 2GB ram, 160GB hard drive and 9 Cell battery from a sought-after name that I pulled the trigger immediately without hesitation. I have been playing with this laptop for a week with no major complain. It started a little slow, not sure if all the Vista machines do the same. It runs all the basic word, powerpoint, photoshop and internet surfing smoothly. Its internal wireless reception is very impressive, even better than other USB wireless cards when placed at the same location. The machine is very quiet, barely heard of fan kicking in. It has a nice dull looking metal case, but easily have my fingerprint left on it. It's definitely thicker than most other laptops. The 9 cell battery protrudes out a little, but that's the thing you have to sacrifice unless you have a short life battery of 4 or 6 cells. Over all, I am happy with this buying. Now it time to sell my old Pentium 4 2.2GHz that has a dead battery.
