Plus my router only supports 802.11b anyway, so there was no point in getting one that supported higher data rates. I have not had any problems with it and it has worked great. It was easy to setup and has great security. Weaknesses: Probably won't find a signal if your router is farther than 30ft away. Summary: I like this product because I don't have to use anymore cables. As long as you have a signal, you're set though. Security Weaknesses: None noted. Summary: Please note this product must be used with another wireless product to be functional, therefore I have mentioned another product for this reason only. I have used this product in a PC on the third floor of a townhome with a DSL line connected to a LinkSys BEFW11S4 wireless router in the basement. The signal showed 65-70% strenghth and the DSL benchwark showed no difference---1300 kilobytes per second---compared to a wired PC connected to the router in the basement. This was with 128 bit encryption enabled for security. There is additional security used with the router since the router acts as a DHCP server; my software firewall has not reported ANY suspicious packets from IPs on the internet since installing this wireless card with the router.
