Strengths: Worked as expected with the SA8300 HDTV DVR that my cable company provides
Weaknesses: maybe the size, haven't ran into anything else yet.
Summary: I purchased this from MicroCenter when they had some rebates so the cost was rather cheap ($60) for an eSATA drive that I could use to expand my HDTV DVR. The SA8300 has an eSATA port and once I connected the Vox drive it immediately recognized it and formatted it. Once I rebooted the settop box I now had over double the capacity for recording my HDTV programs.

Strengths: Compact & Easy To Use. This efficient and simple USB desktop hard drive is compact and easy for anyone to use. Effortless set-up and fully plug-and-play.
Weaknesses: Wish it was formatted as NTFS out of the box, but FAT32 allows the drive to function on both PC & Mac palforms.
Summary: This is perhaps one of the best external drives I've ever owned. Runs really cool and quiet. Works great, and is easily detectable in XP and 2000 and just about every platform. A must have.

Strengths: Price, attractive case, small size
Weaknesses: Power cord to device connection could be better
Summary: Got this hard drive to serve as a backup drive for a desktop computer. I wasn't familiar with the Vox brand previously, but for $45 (after rebates) for a 250GB drive, it was too good a deal to pass up. The black case with blue power light is small and attractive. The one thing that could be improved is the connection between the power cord and the device, which doesn't seem to seat very securely. As long as the unit isn't moved too much, this shouldn't be too big of a problem though. This hard drive has one-touch backup functionality plus the ability to schedule regular backups. The provided backup software doesn't have the fanciest or most user-friendly interface, but once you get used to it, it's just fine.

Strengths: cheap, has eSATA, easy installation
Weaknesses: unknown brand, 250gb is not much space
Summary: 2008-01-04 16:41:23 I got this as a gift for Christmas from a friend. The design is very fashion and sharp. It's a great hard drive comparing to other brands like Seagate. I hope they will produce some bigger hard drives in the future. Newegg.com is having a sale for this for $49.99 AR. So, I am going to get another one because I have many photos and games to store.

Strengths: Reliable, quiet, attractive
Weaknesses: Not too large
Summary: I have had a very nice deal on this hard drive. it has been working well for the last 3 months, without any problems. The case is also very attractive.
The only downside is that this hard drive has only 250 GB, which is not enough for nowadays standards.

Strengths: Low Cost/Gb, auto-spin-down when not in use, LED in front (also flashes when actively reading/writing), on/off switch in back, very nice case.
Weaknesses: Cheap documentation (unnecessary anyway), first USB cable yielded poor connection at HDD
Summary: For the price, (about $40), I was willing to take a chance on this product. I can always use a little more storage, after all. As noted above the USB cable that shipped with the HDD gave a really lousy connection, causing the device to flicker between detected/not-recognized and nominal operation. That was rather disconcerting, because it would be a shame to have to return the whole unit (after a full-format and backup of my other drives). I had purchased through Newegg, whose customer service sent me one of their own USB cables, which provided a solid connection. No problems since.
