Expensive piece of junk
Strengths: Looks good
Weaknesses: Everything else including the service department stinks!
Summary: I had the unfortunate privilege of buying this oven and building my kitchen around it. The main board failed in the first two weeks. A second visit after more than a week by another technician diagnosed the problem as a blown heating element or fuse. Two weeks and counting the problem is not fixed.
Kitchen aid does not have its own factory after sales service but prefer to sub contract this out to 3rd parties who nickel and dime you. Their computers have no visibility into the 3rd party and therefore no control. Baking has not been possible for two weeks and this is a drag.
Check with consumer reports or some reliable source about reliability. I wish I did. Throwing out this piece of junk is difficult since the cabinet and counter top have to be replaced or modified or removed.
