3 Star ReviewGood performer for a small room
Strengths: Has a small slot in the back for holding the remote. The fan is pretty silent when it's on and when in oscillation. Good for small rooms.
Weaknesses: Airflow is not too powerful for a big room, oscillation spread is not too great. The fan starts around 10" or so above the ground.
Summary: The looks of this is pretty good. For a small to mid size room, this is very good and one would feel impressed with the air blowing out of this fan. However, if you have a hall or a big room, on the most powerful speed, you'd find it lacking. The range of rotation during oscillation is not too great either, doesn't even cover upto 75 degrees in a circle. During hot summer months, you'd wish for something more powerful. I'm still going to keep mine since it is alright as my secondary fan in my office.

1 Star ReviewNice idea, poor motor already failed.
Strengths: Quiet
Weaknesses: Short longevity
Summary: I put this in the corner of my small home office and only ran it on low. After about 25 hours of use I noticed a small knocking noise that would come and go, progressively getting worse until I could no longer tolerate the noise and it could be heard over my phone conversations. I contacted Lasko support and was told they don't carry parts for it and "sorry for the inconvenience". This means I paid about $3/hour for its use and its no good. I'm a pretty good mechanic and had no trouble disassembling the unit and found the motor shaft rotated through a bearing that is already worn out. I'll probably figure a way to fix it but this should have never happened and I have researched the net to find out this is a common problem with this model. Shame on Lasko for not taking responsibility.

Strengths: good looking fan with power
Weaknesses: wish it had bigger angles for rotation
Summary: I really liked this fan I bought on sale from walgreens. The fan looks very stylish and also has a remote. It has a ionizer too (but I cant tell the difference when I put it on).

The fan is quite powerful as compared to my other tower fan (holmes). It has a timer which I find it very convenient.

Strengths: Space-saving, quiet, remote control with multiple settings, large range of oscillation
Weaknesses: Not as powerful of a breeze as pedestal fans
Summary: I did some research and found the Lasko fans are rated very well, and they received rave reviews by consumers. Good Housekeeping ranked the 40" Lasko 2530 tower fan at #1. The Lasko 2530 looks identical to the Lasko 2551, except the latter fan is taller at 42". I bought the Lasko 2551 at Walgreens for $49.99 minus a June $10 EasySaver rebate and minus a $5 off $20 coupon they distribute occasionally via e-mail. It's a nice-looking fan with several features my previous tower fan did not have. It has a remote control with identical buttons as the top of the fan -- on/off, low-med-high settings, oscillating, a timer from 1/2 hour to 7.5 hours, and an ionizer. It's light-weight and space-saving, so I can easily transfer it between the bedroom and the kitchen. It has a nice air flow, but it's definitely not as powerful as pedestal fans. I hope this fan lasts a long time, unlike my other tower fan that quit after one year.

Strengths: Creates a nice breeze
Weaknesses: Unstable
Summary: I just received my fan, quick shipping. It was very easy to assemble. After it was assembled, I noticed that it is a little unstable at the bottem and wobbles when it is on. The remote control makes this appliance very convenient.

Strengths: Quiet, Circulate A Lot of Air, Space Saver, Sleek Look
Weaknesses: manual doesn't show how to clean the fan
Summary: I bought this fan from Walgreens after $10 easy saver. This is my first tower fan and I love it so far. The fan tower circulates quiet a lot of air, which is out of my expectation. The fan also saves a lot of space and I can put it at the corners of my home.

The fan is quiet that I can sleep well through out the night. In addition, I can set the timer to number of hours I want. The fan can be operated in three speed settings. Best of all, the fan can be operated in fresh air ionizer. Moreover, the fan also comes with a remote control and two AAA batteries. This remote control can be stored behind fan, which is kind of neat.

However, I have not figured out how to clean the fan as there are no cleaning instructions in the manual. I guess I have to take out the screws behind the tower to clean it.

With the sleek look, space-saving and quiet powerful fan, I love it so far.
