Weaknesses: Documentation! The printed material is only quick-start guides, and the on-screen references aren't much of an improvement. Summary: This is my 6th go at finding DVD software that works for me, and I'm finally home. I'm a computer professional, and was actually considering competing in the market... until I tried Sony Vegas. The documentation needs improvement, but I found everything I needed during a short (2 day) learning curve. I like all the features and best of all it isn't as expensive as what the competition offers. Strengths: Ease of use for a first timer, although I have a pretty good knowledge of computing. Weaknesses: Too much to learn! Summary: I have been working on and off with this for the past 3 months, and I am still learning something new every time. This is my first attempt at learning to put together home movies, and while my results so far would probably be considered amateurish, I am very impressed with my work :) The setup was simple, and I would say it does require a good computer to run (I have 4GB of memory and some things take time even with that). But it could give you some problems to learn how to use this software well.I tried to use the movie maker function to movie a video I made 15 days ago, but still looking for the necessary information to build it with this software. The manual is not user friendly, sometimes you have to figure out what's going on use the help information. But basically, I believe it is a good product after you know how to use it because I noticed it is very functional from the manual. What you need is to spend time to learn how to use it. Summary: This Sony software is very Easy to use. Previously i used the Pinnacle studio 9 and with that i cannot import any AVI file into it. But this software does import every Audio/Video file format. and also it can import flawlessly from camcorders using the firewire port. Lot of transitions available, Apart from the program it also includes the DVD burning software This is great for Home made DVD's.
