I want my Timex back
Strengths: The quartz movement of the analog portion is very precise. Digital timekeeping is independent of the analog portion. The saved lap times are easy to review.
Weaknesses: The button layout is awkward for the digital functions. The hour hand obscures the lower display from 4:30 to 7:30.
Summary: I bought this Pulsar after accidentally bending the battery cover of my Timex while replacing the battery. I liked my Timex, but I thought I would try moving up to a "better" watch. For a retail price 4 times greater than my old watch, I thought there would be a huge difference in quality between the two. The second hand is more precise, but the digital and analog clocks don't stay in sync. This isn't a big deal but it begins to look funny when the bar graph in the upper right get out of sync with the analog time. The button layout for the digital functions is not as well thought out as my the one from my old watch. I'm constantly toggling it between time and date display and turning the hourly beep on and off as I wear the watch because these settings are so easy to accidentally trigger. The Timex had the same functionality but it required you to hold down the buttons for a few seconds to avoid accidentally triggering them. If you are considering this watch, take a look at the Timex model T295619J Dress Watch with Chronograph. It has almost all of the features of this Pulsar (it lacks the tachymeter) and also includes a countdown timer.
