Strengths: Simple dubbing instructions,Quick-start card, and manual in 3 languages assures good learning experience. In minimal time, I was transferring old vhs data to DVDs with up to 6 hrs recording times!
Weaknesses: Having some initial problems with compatibility to other DVD machines, but may be doing something wrong in recording, such as format, finalizing, or something. I am sure this problem will be resolved.
Summary: This appears to me to be an excellent machine with a very competitive price. It has all the outputs and inputs(front&back) that I can imagine that I may ever need, and it puts out DVDs easily recorded! As I don't have a lot of time for an intense learning experience, I feel very blessed that this machine performs exactly as I had hoped with minimal problems. My primary intent was to preserve video on DVD format in place of VHS, a secondary goal was to make the DVDs compatible to most other machines. While I have achieved the first goal easily, I am hoping that the second goal is also possible with this machine, taking just a bit more study of the instruction book's 87 pages!
