Summary: As stated above, I cannot believe that the designers of this product decided that once plugged in the bright blue led light cannot be turned off. After a while you can also hear the hum of the fan running even when the unit is not in use. Considering the price and performance you would think the trade off is not too bad, but the light and hum will annoy you to no end. Instead of returning it we decided to unplug it until we needed it. Comparing other brands, really nothing compares at this price range. We looked at cuisinart, kitchen aid, hamilton beach, which were all priced higher but did not offer anything worth the premium especially the warranty. Its a keeper but still Im amazed by the designers of this product that they would undermine such a nice product with such an annoying attribute. I would have easily given this 4/5 stars but have decided on 3 due to the fact I have to unplug this thing so often.
