No Regret

Strengths: Three different wide screen adjustment

Weaknesses: 10 seconds wait till picture appears.

Summary: I've been eyeing this model for 2 years, and got it finally on New Year's Day 2006 after the old 27" Sony TV that we had for 16 years died. We got this TV from Fry's Electronics for a bargain price of $999.00 brand new. I'm glad I waited for the sale at Fry's, no one can beat that price. My wife who was very addamant in getting a widescreen TV feel in love with this model which is better in all aspects than the Pioneer, Hitachi and Toshiba brand widescreen TV's that relatives have and are more expensive than our TV. I don't have to connect my EnterTech Magic Sing Karaoeki Microphone to my hometheatre system in order to get a better sound. I just hook it directly to the TV and I get the sound that I want while singing.

Strengths: Solid picture for the pricepoint and built in HD is a welcome feature when you can actually find a station that supports it.

Weaknesses: I have gone through two defective units in three days.

Summary: I purchased this TV from Circuit City and it was delivered last Friday. The first unit failed to even power up. Circuit City promptly replaced that one and the second seemed to work fine for a day or so. Then on the second day the on-screen menus started going haywire. They would flicker around the screen and would disappear at random. Seems like it may be a firmware issue that I want no part of. After calling Sony support they said I would need to have the unit serviced. Umm, for a two thousand dollar TV that I've had for three days I am not settling for "Service". How about "NO"!!!? This is going back to Circuit City and I am getting my money back.

Excellent

Strengths: Everything

Weaknesses: na

Summary: We are very happy with this model. We purchased it from Sears at a great price. The picture quality excellent ---The style is beautiful. We have had this since Dec. 23, 2005 and have no complaints. We'd recommend this HDTV to anyone. Thank you Sony.

great TV at a great price

Strengths: TV features allowing picture formating. The price

Weaknesses: None so far.

Summary: We bought the Sony KDp51ws655 51" TV at BrandsMart USA for $998. We were pleasantly surprised at the quality of the TV for the price as we have paid more for projection TVs in the past.

We shopped for several weeks before deciding on this model and store. Setting up this TV was extremely easy and we were watching HDTV in no time. Setting up the surround sound was also a breeze due to the instructions in the TV manual.
