Strengths: 5.8G, digital answering machine, 2-line,
Weaknesses: caller ID system is stupid (see comments), expandable up to only 3 extra handset
Summary: This phone is great. Simply making all the functions together.

5.8G, 2-line, digital answering machine, conferencing, intercom, caller id, and the sound quality is great as well.

I give it 4 stars instead of 5 due to the following two weak points:

1. Only expandable up to 3 extra handset. The official adv. says 4 because it counts the handset on the base unit for one more. A 2-line phone is often required by a small business or a home office. This expandability is not good enough compared to its main competitor (Uniden TRU8866 with up to 9 extra handset).

2. The caller ID system is so stupid. If you answer a call from handset #1, all the other handsets will show up "1 missed call", so you can expect that the handset you seldom use will often show up "10 missed calls" or something like that, which is annoying because you can hardly know which calls are those you really missed.

Strengths: Excellent sound clarity. Ability to retrieve messages from handset(s). Doesn't interfere with my wireless network or is not affected by my wireless network.
Weaknesses: Base unit volume is very weak at the highest setting. No where near as loud as previous Panasonic telephones or answering machines that I have used.
Summary: The features of this phone are very intuitive. I like the ability to use the phone as an intercom. Although I am not using a second line at this point in time, I'm sure the ability to teleconference with two separate groups would be a nice feature. Another reason I purchased this phone was the ability to expand the system with a second phone line or more cordless phones. Which leads me to one minor annoyance that I do not like about the phone. When the second line is not being used it would be nice to not have to press Line 1 to dial out when using the phone book. Pressing "Talk" should be sufficient -- this is more intuitive. Also, it would be nice if one did not have to hear "Line 1" when retrieving messages from or on the base unit (when not using both lines). These might be nit picking items, but can't be very hard to implement into the design of the phone.

Great phone. I tried another brand with my last cordless. It lasted about a year when the buttons stopped working. You just can't beat Panasonic feature packed phones for the money. I just wish this particular model had a louder or higher volume at the base unit. The low volume makes it very difficult to screen your calls or listen to the messages playing back from another room. The volume setting goes up to "8". A setting of "10" is needed to make this phone almost perfect.

Strengths: Clear and crisp voice quality
Weaknesses: Poor menu system
Summary: We had to replace the Siemens 2.4GHz system that we had because of interference. This was the closest thing we could find that was not too expensive. All in all a good system but the Siemens is better, but also double the price.

Strengths: Easy to use and no weaknesses
Weaknesses: NA
Summary: I would highly recommend as it gives you plenty of flexibiity and easy to use with great calrity in and out of the house. The extrahandset is a big help and you do not need a phone outlet.

Strengths: Exellent quality, the features you'll really use, and simple to operate
Weaknesses: Advertised as "wall-mountable", and it is, but it juts out into the room too far for our purposes.
Summary: Having read excellent reviews from others, I purchased this phone system for home/home business (with the 2-line support). It was well-packed, with excellent documentation in the "quick start" guide, and the user manual. I charged the phones overnight, and my wife and I were impressed with the easy-to-understand user interface (difficult with some phones to find the features you want to use). The next day I got around to wall-mounting the phone in the kitchen. I had just got it up, my wife walks in, and says, "NO! That looks terrible!" It does stick out much too far to work as wall-mountable for us. Before ordering, I made a false assumption that the wall-mounting might allow the phone to flatten out, like be mounted in an upright position, rather than a desk-prone position. But, no, it mounts on the wall as if it were sitting on your desk, and protrudes from the wall 5 and 1/2 inches! Also, if using an existing wall phone jack, the desk-style orientation may leave the phone too tall for many users. Our previous (10+ year old) Sears speakerphone mounted flat on the wall phone jack, and worked fine being 5 feet off the floor. But besides jutting out too far, this phone is really too high without lowering the jack, and then one would be even more apt to bump into the phone.

So our old Sears Speakerphone is back on the wall (still works great with its 20 quickdial buttons), and this new Panasonic base is upstairs on the "home office" counter.

This phone system does work fine with other wired household phones. One reviewer said you can't pick up a call with this system that's been already answered by another phone in the house. That's not true: all that's necessary is to press the "Line 1" softkey, and you join the conversation. Or if you press "Talk" first (the phone chooses the other line to use the free line), then press the "Line 1" softkey to join the other call.

In general, this is a great phone, and I highly recommend it. Just be aware that wall-mounting needs plenty of room, which might work in an office cubicle or over a counter, but not on the end of a cabinet as we tried. I rated it 4 stars because of this lame "wall-mountable" designation, but it is 5 stars for overall performance aside from this.

Strengths: Ease of assembly/setup. Intuative configuration and menu system. Good setup guide and owners manual.
Weaknesses: Nothings perfect. Maybe in time I'll find something screwy.
Summary: I really like the extended phone idea. I purchased this system mainly for the additional phones without a phone line. The satalite phone is located in my shop next to the house so now my wife and I can talk to one another without having to go outside. The phones are about 100 feet apart and are blocked by 4 walls with rebar, house wires, and fixtures on them. When I picked up the shop phone the dial tone was right there and after calling a neighbor and puting the phone on speaker I was convienced I didn't screw up in selecting Panasonic.

After spending time selecting the ring level and ring tone on the base phone I stuck a bunch of numbers in the base phone. Changed the answering machine rings to 6 and then went to the shed and copied all those numbers into the shed phone. What a breeze.

This phone system has more features then I will use. At least in the near future but what I have used worked as expected. The glowing antenna tip was cool to see when there is a message on the phone. Phones have really come a long ways since my last purchase many moons ago.

This phone is really nice and way functional...

Strengths: Great signal and sound. Has capability to check messages from handset as well as replicate phone books to other handsets.
Weaknesses: Can't upload ringer tones. No USB port :( Max of 4 handsets. Wish they would do away with that
Summary: Good paging/intercom

Simple to use menus

3 Message boxes

60 min total recording time w/ 3min max each

Remote message checking allows new messages only by pressing *4

Signal and sound is best of any cordless I have had in 20 years.

Does not interfere with wireless network

Paid high price but worth it.

Strengths: Great looks and quality. Great range. Intercom system is excellent.
Weaknesses: Nothing that I can see yet.
Summary: I have only had this system a few days, but it beats my old cordless phones by a mile. Great communication between handsets, paging etc. Clarity is great. It is a phone system without buying a high priced commercial system.
