So you need a camera that can capture all of its special moments. Check out the EasyShare DX3700. It has 3.1MP resolution for excellent picture quality - up to 11" x 14" - for those pictures you'll want to share with family and friends. And when it comes to getting closer to the fun, the 3X digital zoom does the job.
The DX3700 has 8MB of internal memory built right in so you'll never miss a shot. If you've filled your camera to capacity but there are still great pictures to be taken, don't worry - the DX3700 has a MultiMedia Card/Secure DigitalTM memory card (MMC/SD) expansion slot, so you'll have plenty of memory to keep on shooting with optional MMC/SD memory cards.
If you use the KODAK EasyShare Camera Dock, sharing is just as easy. Simply place your DX3700 in the dock, touch the button, and pictures are automatically sent to your computer ready for e-mailing and printing. The Camera Dock will also recharge your camera's battery pack, so you'll always be ready to take more pictures.

Strengths: Routinely snaps high-quality images that are great for 4x6 or 5x7 prints, even 8x10 prints are decent.
Weaknesses: No zoom lens! Kodak's proprietary NiMH battery pack is worthless. 8MB internal memory is insufficient.
Summary: For a beginner, as I was when I first bought this camera a year ago, it's great. But as your skills progress, the DX3700's lack of an optical zoom lens is annoying. The Digital Zoom feature is useless, as it degrades the image quality to a degree that is unacceptable. Overall, the Kodak manages to take pictures that are accurately exposed (if a tad on the high-contrast side) and have good color. The sharpness level is a bit soft, so editing in a software program may be necessary. Battery life depends on the type of battery you get. IGNORE THE KODAK RECHARGEABLES!!! They can't hold a charge worth beans! The most I got out of them on a single charge was 54 pictures, and that was unusually high. Also, get at least a 64MB Secure Digital or Multi-Media Card for storing images! The Lithium-Ion "CRV3" type battery is expensive, but they usually last 250 pictures or more, but then...I don't use the LCD on every shot, either. I decided to go with NiMH rechargeables instead, and they last about 150 pics on a single charge...more than adequate. I have 4 of these AA size batteries, one pair in the camera and one pair as a back-up. Haven't needed anything else, as the NiMH batteries (NOT KODAK BRAND!) work fairly well for the lowest cost. If you're willing to pay $10 per battery, the CRV3 type last the longest. Great pics, decent battery life (avoiding Kodak batteries) and ease of use make this a great camera for beginners. But if you're an enthusiast, look elsewhere.

Strengths: Very easy to use for all the family, kids to grandparents
Weaknesses: Battery Life, no external battery power
Summary: I wonder where these really low negative reviews are coming from, either they had defective cameras or just don't know what they are doing. This is my second Kodak digital and I was lucky to get the demo model at a store for only $99 as they were upgrading to newer models. The reviewers that say they only get like 6 or 8 pictures on a set of batteries must be leaving the LCD on all the time and using inferior Alkaline batteries which are not recommended by Kodak. With 1400mah nicads I get well over an hour of snapping photos in any mode. The 1800mah rechargables would be the ones to get. When first tested I got about an hour with standard alkaline batteries and pretty constant use of the LCD. The DX3700 has a nice sharp LCD view, takes excellent sharp photos. It is a little slow as it takes about 2 seconds for a snap to complete. The 2X digital zoom takes nice clear photos and the 3X digital zoom is pretty useless as it is just too grainy. In better and best quality the camera takes great photos which can be printed large scale on a printer with excellent results. The lowest resolution mode fine for e-mail photos to put on ebay, etc. Lithium batteries are about $5 for a pair. The lithium work very well at several hours when conservative on the LCD use, but price isn't justified. Best bet, 1700/1800MAH rechargables. In all,a 3.1MP camera with limited features at a great price.

Strengths: Very easy to use. Pretty much just point an shoot. The auto focus was a life saver, and the pictures can be enlarged with crisp clear results. Also with a memory card it has ample storage capacity.
Weaknesses: Battery life was a bit lacking. And although it has internal storage, I found that you need to buy a memory card.
Summary: I bought the camera without the docking option. I have heard that the dock makes life much easier. I think that will be my next purchase. Also the software is GREAT. Kodak has done it again.

Strengths: Easy Use, "click-to-capture" speed, Design, Quality of camera and output and easy software
Weaknesses: Only weakness I can come close to is only a 1.6" LCD viewscreen, but that is NA opposed to positives
Summary: I have owned 2 other Kodak cameras and 1 from HP as well as SONY, I cannot find a BAD thing to say about Kodak, the others ???

Strengths: High megapixels. Decent software.
Weaknesses: Feels light and cheap. Blurry pics. Autofocus lame. Not enough on board memory.
Summary: Tried for two days to get good pictures out of it. We had a HP and were used to crisp photos. With this camera, two thirds of every set of pictures were blurry at the edges, not crisp. It seemed that you had to hold it ABSOLUTELY still, or your picture would not have sharp lines. The one's that were clear looked nice, but too many blurry ones. I don't recommend this camera. HPs are much better in the price range.

Strengths: Low cost, good resolution, easy and fast interface, good support from website.
Weaknesses: None found yet! I'll update this if any arise.
Summary: I read the reviews here before deciding to buy. I was in the market to upgrade from an older lower resolution camera, yet was on a budget of under $200. For this price, there are several 2 mega pixel (MP) cameras or this one (3 MP). I bought the refurbished model for $159.99 and ordered the dock ($60) and an extra rechargeable battery ($15). I've also got a 64MB card coming ($30)- I found a better deal elsewhere. The extra battery was not needed, as the dock comes with one. I hooked everything up and it worked great! My prior camera was a .8 MP limited to 10 bit color, so of course this one is head & shoulders above that. I plugged in the dock to AC power and the USB port on my computer, loaded the software from the CD, and rebooted per the instructions and had a picture on my screen from the camera in just a few minutes. The USB transfer rate is much better than the serial mode the old camera used, as is the light weight of the DX3700 and the fact it uses a 2 cell battery (vs. 6 AA batteries on my old camera). As for the gripes listed here: 1. Blurry pics: Not seen thus far (I've only shot inside at night with the flash, and expect the outside pics will be even better). 2. Auto focus problems: Not observed. 3. Short battery life: ? I used the LI, and also have the rechargeable. This is not a high end camera, but for the money, it is hard to beat. I paid $170 for the .8 MP camera several years ago.

The camera dock is optional and has great features ...
Strengths: 3.1 Mega Pixels
Weaknesses: Plastic. about 4 to 6 pictures with a fully charged NiMhi Kodak battery. Pretty bad. The non rechargable Lithium battery will give you about 20-30 pictures. Muli Media card is hard to find $$$$$$
Summary: The camera dock is optional and has great features, but you will have to carry several sets of batteries with you at 15 dollars a pop. I do not recommed this product. The view screen is small as well. I am on my second one and returning this one also for the FUJI 2600.

Strengths: The Dock. EXTREMELY handy for downloading pictures. Just place the camera on the dock and push the button. The dock can also be used to recharging the batteries while the camera is sitting atop it.
Weaknesses: The batteries have a VERY sort life, 6 shots and they're gone! The pictures seemed grainy to me and were not printable quality.
Summary: This is a nice starter camera but don't expect quality pictures for printing. Using the 3X zoom makes the pictures very grainy. For computer use the pictures are wonderful, very sharp. The internal memory isn't large enough nor is the battery power. I DO NOT recommend this camera. I had it two hours before I realized it's really just a toy. I repacked it and took it back to the store today.
