Strengths: Heats up quickly, lid contains oil splatter

Weaknesses: Hard to clean, Needs a timer

Summary: I purchased this fryer for $40 and is a great buy at that price. One nice feature is that you can fill the basket, and drop the food into the oil after you close the lid greatly reducing splatter. Be careful to not over fill the fryer with oil or it may overflow making a huge mess. As with any fryer keeping it clean is not easy.

CoolDaddy Cool Touch

Strengths: size, lid, performance

Weaknesses: filter, overflows easily if full of oil, cleaning

Summary: This is my first fryer but I think it does a good job. As everything is enclosed you can touch/move it with out worrying about hot surfaces. The oil comes up to temp quickly but can over flow if you have it filled to the max line and drop the basket too fast. The unit comes apart easily for cleaning but is not easily cleaned. The lid is nice as it encloses everything and somewhat covers the "fried" smell. It would be nice if they included a way to filter the oil after use or a lid that could seal the oil for reuse. All in all I think it works well for the price.
