Strengths: Excellent color, sharp picture.
Weaknesses: Cost-but considering the technology, well worth it.
Summary: After looking at various Plasma models, I settled on this model. The Sharp Aquos model matched Plasma units in overall performance, especially considering the relatively light weight and HDTV features.

In looking at my collection of Laser Disks and DVDs, they have never looked better on this TV. I played "Gone With The Wind" (the new DVD version with the digital restored print) for friends, and they thought I had a copy of the 35mm film!

Due to the sharpness of the HDTV picture, you see both the flaws and greatnesses of TV broadcasting and DVDs. With this set, I can hardly wait until Blu-Ray comes out.

Expensive, but well worth the cost!

Strengths: Great display for high-quality DVDs. PC video display looks very good, although not widescreen. HDTV tuner works very well
Weaknesses: Standard cable is iffy at best. Ghosting, poor rendering of color is present.
Summary: So far, I've been impressed with the display of *good* quality DVDs. I am using a Zenith upconverting DVD player. Display of standard cable here is iffy at best. The lack of color depth in this mode is particularly evident when viewing skin tones, such as foreheads. The quality of the feed with standard cable is very obvious with this TV, as channels that arrive at my cable provider in HD are much better looking. (I don't subscribe to cable HDTV) Channel flipping is notably slow, and startup time is around 10-15 seconds.

I would recommend if you like to watch movies and/or work on your PC. PC video looks much better on this LCD than it ever did on my Panasonic plasma. However, don't expect to use 1920x1080 as your PCs resolution, as the tv won't support it. 1280x1024 is the highest resolution supported.

The PC card option is bittersweet. It *does* record video to the card, and will play back video from the card, but not in full-screen -- just in this partial screen. Plus, the play/ff/rew buttons on the remote DO NOT WORK in this mode! Only record works. You must use the arrow keys on your remote to navigate on-screen buttons. Hopefully this will be fixed in a firmware upgrade. Haven't tried the slideshow option yet. Accepted a 5 GB toshiba pcmcia hard drive with no difficulties.

Overall, it's a good purchase if you only plan to watch HDTV stations or DVDs. Definitely invest in a good DVD player with HDMI or DVI output, otherwise there probably won't be much worth displaying. Also convenient if you like to press record when you see something interesting on TV and record it to the pc card.

Strengths: THE SHARP BODY IS VERY SLEEK WOULD LOOK GREAT IN ANY ROOM. SOUND IS VERY GOOD.EASY TO USE REMOTE CONTROL
Weaknesses: ONE THING I COULD NOT UNDERSTAND IS WHY THEY NEVER MADE THE SHARP WITH HEADPHONES
Summary: I AM VERY PLEASED WITH THE STYLE,AND APPEARENCE OF THE SHARP TV.I HAD PURCHASED THE SILVER MODEL NOT THE BLACK.MY NEXT MOVE WOULD BE TO HAND IT ON A WALL AND ADD THE SURROUND SOUND TO IT.VERY PLEASED WITH THE PICTURE OF THE HD CHANNELS.

Strengths: A LCD TV with a quality name and a name that lives up to its reputation of a quality product. Can be used as a monitor for computer or with video games. Has a PC card slot.
Weaknesses: none that I can tell
Summary: If a person wants a quality LCD this is the set, it has many features and adjustments that allow a person to watch TV and movies the way they like to view them. The price might seem high at first but after owning the set it is well worth it. this set can be wall mounted for even greater viewing pleasure.
