Strengths: Compatible with DVD, DVD+-R, DVD+-RW, VCD, SVCD, CD, CD-R, CD-RW, SACD, MP3, WMA, and DIVX; excellent playback; can swap discs while one is playing; 1 year warranty; superb picture quality
Weaknesses: Remote functions lacking; no DVD-Audio support
Summary: 2005-06-20 17:52:17 I believe this is the best 5 disc changer in the sub-$300 market. It has fantastic compatibility, including the ability to play Divx-encoded .AVI files which I have not seen in any other 5 disc changer. This has saved countless hours in DVD creation time for me. Lack of DVD-Audio support is a glaring shortcoming of otherwise excellent compatibility. Picture quality through component video outs is the best I have seen and I have owned several makes of DVD players. My one complaint (more of an inconvenience) is the lack of direct access to discs via the remote. Meaning if I want to view Disc 4 and I am playing Disc 1, I have to hit the disc skip button, wait for Disc 2 to load, hit the button again, wait for Disc 3 to load and finally I can get to Disc 4. Having individual buttons for each disc on the remote is an inexcusable omission. For the non-lazy the buttons are included on the DVD player itself.
