Strengths: The screen on this laptop is outstanding. The processor allows for great battery life and fast access to all my programs. It's also very light.
Weaknesses: No scroll function on the touchpad mouse. Overall on the bulky side, but this is a cost of the wide screen.
Summary: I highly recommend this laptop for someone who travels a moderate amount and wants decent functionality at a very acceptable cost. This is the fourth laptop that I have owned, and it far outperforms all of my previous ones.

2 Star ReviewDefective Toshiba Satellite
Strengths: NA
Weaknesses: Defective
Summary: have owned a Toshiba Satellite M35X-S349 1.7 Ghz Pentium M Laptop since November, 2004. It comes with 512 MB of RAM-I upgraded to 1 GB of RAM. The 1.7 Mhx processor was insufficient for my purposes as I discovered too late. Don't bother buying one unless you enjoy being aggravated. It is now March, 2006 and the laptop just came back from being repaired under a store warrantee after it completely died-literally, the computer would not turn on. I was told the motherboard was defective and they had to replace it. This should not happen, especially on a computer that is little more than a year old. I have been plagued with other problems since i got this Toshiba laptop as well. like another reviewer mentions, yes the fan is noisy and seems to run most of the time. In a number of instances leading up to the motherboard failure, the computer would turn off with no explanation (probably a harbinger of things to come). All kinds of strange glitches, which a friend who is extremely knowledgable about computers told me are extremely unusual. Not to mention

the fact that the computer was hardly inexpensive. I think I paid about $1600 for it, not including the memory upgrade. I would never buy another Toshiba.
