Strengths: Excellent still picture...rivals that of many higher end Mitsubishi models. Autoconvergence continually makes your TV look like new.
Weaknesses: Can't handle background movement...flickering ensues. This isn't the worst problem to have...sporting events are ok since the action is in the forefront. Blimp shots flicker.
Summary: One HD component input drags you down if you have multiple component sources (DVD, Xbox). But if you spent this much money on a tv, get a sound receiver that has component switching = problem solved. The Directv built-in HD receiver is cost-friendly, but Directv is lagging badly behind VOOM.

Strengths: Crisp picture quality for first 3 years
Weaknesses: only 1 component video imput, audio goes out of sync with video if left on for a long time.
Summary: I bought this tv about 3 years ago and had been very satified with it until recenlty. It has always had an intermitent problem with the audio going out of sync with the video, but turing off the tv and back on always resolves it. The other issue I've began to see latley it flickering of the video while watching HD content. It is currently in for repairs, but RCA is unable to explain the problem. I've read many other instances where the capacitor or diodes (something like that) are known to overheat and may cause this, and some even have caught fire. Overall this was a good product, but the quality just isn;t there and a $3500 tv shouldn't have these problems after a few years.
